What time can we fly out after disembarking?

What is the earliest time that I can comfortably make airline reservations for departure after disembarking on Saturday (after a 7 day cruise)?

I will be arriving earlier in the week and will not be using the Disney transfer bus. I therefore have to make other arrangements for transferring from the boat to the Orlando airport. Suggestions?

Thanks for your help.

We are doing the same as you. We are coming in early and renting a car, turning it in before cruising. I decided to get Disney transportation back to MCO. It was $48 for both of us and the CM said we should have no problem making a 12:30 PM flight. I don't think I would be comfortable with anything earlier than that. You should be off the ship and through customs around 8:30 - 8:45 if you skip breakfast and get in line.

You should be fine with noon or after (you could probably even get by with a little earlier). We are trying for an 11:20 flight on our upcoming trip...like you, we do other arrangements (Happy Limo towncar), so we know that we can leave ASAP. We will just skip breakfast for the early flight.

There has been many threads on this subject. I think the general consensus for post 9/11 was noon or later. Our flight out on the last cruise (pre-9/11) was 11:30 AM. We also had to return a rental car, yet we made it with hours to spare.

For those of us who have early flights and may not be able to make the morn. breakfast, by some miracle could we order room service that pm to have coffee, etc. delivered for morn.

4nana - unless it's changed since February 2002, there was no breakfast room service that morning.

If you are eating Main - then you will eat early enough to stand in line to be one of the first off the ship.

Most of the airlines have ticket representatives at the Port and you can check your baggage with them and ride the bus to the Airport Terminal.

February 2002, we were changed to a flight leaving at 10:55AM. We had more than enough time to make the flight. But that wasn't our choice and we didn't know about the change until we arrived.

We opted to take the same flight for this September and I'm not at all concerned about making it. But that's us and it isn't for everyone.
