What tickets will you be buying?

DH and I have decided that for our upcoming trip we will buy the 6 day base with the hopper add on. We only plan on "doing" 4 full days at the parks but we also want to do a couple dinners at Epcot on our "off" days and we figured that it would only cost us $11 more to add on the extra 2 days, so to us it seemed worth it to pay an extra $5.50 per day to be able to enter the park to have dinner and catch Illuminations.

So what tickets are you buying? and how will you use them???

We are also doing a 6 night onsite - I plan to buy a 10 day base ticket (no need to hop but I might consider buying the non-expiration ticket once I get there (depending on how much DH wants to do on site (golf boats, bikes, etc.) - we are staying off site for a week too! I figure I could go onsite for a dinner or something. Its just too inexpensive not to buy the 10 day and I'll be in right next door (in Cypress Point Resort)!

We will buy 10-day non-expiring hoppers. We will use 5 days next trip and 5 days the trip after that. We will save nearly $600 over the old tickets by doing so. The MYW tickts can be a huge savings if you do it right.

I have read many posts about others wanting to buy 10 day tickets.
It use to be that 8 days was pretty much the cut off to where an AP was a better deal.
What is the number of days cut off now?
When buying 10 day tickets, seems an AP is the way to go. Unless they want to save a few days for beyond a year.

We've been debating on our ticket choice for a several weeks now. We will be staying 12 nights at Disney in May of this year. Originally we were planning 5 days at the Parks themselves. The new MYW tickets changed our thoughts. We decided that the difference in a 5 and 10 day ticket was very minimal. We have now decided to purchase a 10 day Park Hopping ticket with the no expiration option. We already have 4 day Park Hopper Plus tickets with 4 pluses left from our 2004 trip. Our plan now is to use 2 days from our older Park Hopper Plus tickets and 5 days from the new MYW ticket. This will give us 7 days in the parks this trip AND 7 days NEXT trip. YEAH!! We love spending days at the Water Parks and resting and relaxing at the hotel so this will work GREAT for us. We are very excited about the new MYW tickets!

I bought the 10 day park hopper non expiry tickets I will use 5 on this trip and 5 on the next!
It worked out that this makes the next trip only $75 for the 5 days,($15 a day!) so it is the best one for me.. I really had a hard time deciding on the 5 day or the 10 day... took me forever number crunching to decide to do this!

Not sure what the cut-off is, but I've done extensive number-crunching and decided on the 10-day MYW non-expiring tickets over the AP. We're planning 2 week-long trips over the next year (squeezing out as much fun as possible before my youngest turns 3 ). 5 park days per trip is plenty, we like to take a day off mid-week to give everyone a break. What really decided us is that 1) We won't need more then 10 park days 2) Having the non-expiration tickets is kind of an "insurance policy" in case something comes up and we have to cancel the second trip. I'd be sick if I paid for the AP's and only got to use them for one trip. 3) We're planning on going to DisneyQuest, and the 5 pluses for $45 is a good value. We'll have enough pluses to probably last us our next 4 or 5 trips.

The potential downside is that we would like to stay onsite our next trip and we won't qualify for any AP discount codes (although hopefully there will be other discounts available, or we'll stay offsite again).

If AP discounts are available, then it will be one AP and 3 10-day MYW hoppers w/no expiry. If there are no AP discounts, then it will be 4 MYWs.

Looks like the 10 day ticket is a favorite so far! We also will buy the 10 day ticket with no expiration, and add the $45 for the plus package. This coming fall we will use 3 days in Disney, 2 water parks and then we will be purchasing a couple of universal days umbrella: yep DH needs his fix too). We will do the same thing for the next two years purchasing tickets again in the 2007 year because we will be running out of plus options and will also need more days for the following year. Although plans may easily change as we are going to try to start fitting in short spring trips to Epcot to accompany our homeschool study untill DD#2 is ready to travel internationally (not that she can't at this age (2) but I want her to be able to enjoy and study the culture also), and of course we will use up park days faster this way.

We are getting the 10 day hopper with no expiration as well. We will use half on our next visit and half the next time we go (which will be 2 or 3 years so the AP won't help us). We also found out on our last visit that the hopper passes we bought back in 1996 for our trip have 2 days left on each of them. Yipee!! I am so glad we kept them for souvenirs!!! Very nice surprise. So we have those too. We may have to get a 2 day pass for my son at some point to catch him with us.
