We're planning an eight day trip in May 2012, and at the moment it will most likely be in the Elysee or another hotel at Val d'Europe.

Any advice on what tickets to buy, given that some days we will go into Paris and others only to Disney (although may use the bus to Disney too)?

You are going to have several types of tickets :goodvibes

For going into Paris for a day and back plus all your metro/bus travel in Paris and even if you wanted to go to Disney after you have a Mobilis which costs 14€ pp for a 1-5 zones which is what you need

To go from Val d'Europe to Disney to Val d'Europe on the RER you can buy a carnet de billets Origine-Destination which is 10 tickets and it works out 20% cheaper than buying them one by one - It's around 14€ now

On the buses you'll be best getting a carnet of ticket t which again can be used by anyone on all buses in the IDF as well as in Paris on the bus/metro (but you'd be using your Mobilis) and costs 12,50€ as opposed to buying a single ticket on the bus at 1,90€ each

Hth :goodvibes

No bother :thumbsup2

Forget to mention that if you have children with you under 4 they don't pay and if they are between 4-10 they pay half price and if you are under 26 and are going into Paris on the Saturday or the Sunday you can get a Ticket Jeunes weekend which will cost you 7€ for zone 1-5 per day

Anything else just shout :goodvibes

Oh, to be under 26 again - I'm not sure my memory goes that far back...:rotfl2:

Another option is to buy a 'navigo decouverte' for one week.

It's 33€ for one week (sun-mon) and allows you on all transport, all day, all week, all zones so that's 1-5 (zones are like London zones, Disney is zone 5 and central Paris is zone 1)

You can buy these from the ticket office in the chessy train station (they usually speak good english there too) more info here:

Or google 'navigo decouverte tariff une semaine'

(make sure you have a passport photo with you though as it's like a DIY bus pass you stick your own pic on)

Any questions drop me a message.

I know the feeling :rotfl2:

True there is the weekly pass as mentionned ^^, it's comes down to how much you are going to be going into Paris and the park plus how many you are as the tickets can be used by anyone and there's no time limit on them, (I have Ticket T going back 10 years at least that are still good) where as you'll need one pass pp and it's limited to a week...if you are Monday through Sunday it's good, if you are Wednesday through Tuesday maybe less so

When you are adding up the costs don't forget there's also a 5€ setting up fee per pass :)
