What things do you bring to Disney? Like things to make your stay a little easier, because your room is really not that big. Or things that help you through your days at the parks. :confused3

My most important thing is something you can purchase there in the resort gift shop or in the parks -- I keep my KTTW card (plus driver's license, photopass card and $20 cash) in a plastic cardholder. Some people also get a lanyard to put it on, but I just keep it separate. With the KTTW facing out through the clear side, you don't even have to take it out to get through parking tolls, resort gates, or for EMH resort card checks.

Well I can tell you what I leave at home. ;) I empty my wallet of all cards I do not need and usually only bring the Visa, bank card and drivers license. Having a washer and dryer handy also lets us pack a lot less clothes too.
Refillable water bottles are nice so you don't have to keep buying water. I usually just fill ours at the free water fountains.

A good place for suggestions is the Owner Locker lists that people have http://www.ownerslocker.com/blog/2008/07/the_ultimate_owners_locker_pac.htm
This one has a lot of things that would not be needed in a regular unit but it also has some good ideas.
While the resort gift shops do carry everything the prices are very high.
Couple of things - If you are going in the summer I would bring an inexpensive misting fan.
We bring a wireless access point for the internet.
If you have a unit with a microwave you can bring a box of microwave popcorn for the price of one bag in the store.
Clothes for layer, it can be cold at night. I suspect Disney sells a lot of sweat shirts.
Rain ponchos.

I have 3 kids and they all have a refillable waterbottle that has a shoulder strap. This is great. No more, "I'm thirsty!" every 10 secs.

Also, straps for the sunglasses. This way, when you go in and out of buildings, the kids just take off the glasses and let them hang around their necks.

This way, I'm not a pack mule and they get to look after some things on their own.

I also really like to have my camera on my waist instead of inside of a bag. I got a nice small case that straps onto a waistband or my bag strap. I take more impromptu pics this way.

Crystal Light and Kool-Aid packs.

Ziploc Baggies.

LaundrySoap packs from local laundrymat much cheaper:)

Blister Spray and bandaids..

Tylenol Adult Extra Strength and Childrens, Gravol just in case..

Extra Batteries for camera or rechargables and charger..

I bring a small ziplock bag with about 4-5 disinfectant wipes. I know it's crazy but where ever we go I quickly clean the phone, alarm clock, light switches and remote control in the rooms. It's the most overlooked areas and who knows what were on people's hands before us in the room? Everything else you can see.

We also bring pringles, chocolate, nibs, crackers and cheese whiz. All of the things that we don't normally eat at home! Did I say chocolate?? LOTS of chocolate!! ;)

If you are staying somewhere cramped for space, an over-the-door shoe hanger with clear pockets works well for putting everyone's things into (such as toothpaste, make-up, sunscreen, keys, etc). That way the stuff stays off the counters and things can be found easily. :-) The shoe hanger packs nice and flat in your suitcase too!

Also, I love those pop-up clothes hampers. Keeps the laundry together. :-)

DD17 and I stay at Pop so to combat the "no divider curtain" issue, I bring a tension rod and a curtain I made of fabric full of Disney characters. It certainly does the trick!
I have also found that the over the door shoe holders do not always fit on the doors (the doors are too wide) so I make sure to pack a few cable ties so I can put them on the closet rods.

These are some great tips. We are staying at POP also, and looking at pictures of the rooms they look very cozy. So any tips on making it not so crowded is great. I picked up large and small ziplock bags, ponchos, hooks to go on the doors, fold up laundry baskets, so far. :thumbsup2 Anymore ideas would be great!!

This year we will have the pleasure of having a 2 bedroom but there are some staples I always bring...

  • nightlight for the bathroom
  • glow sticks (dollarama - for parades and fireworks so I don;t have to buy every light up souvenir)
  • Travel wipes - a must given the recent illness down there
  • Travel lysol - always spray the pillows before our heads go on them
  • baggies - for leftovers -keep popcorn fresh or leftover Mousekrispie
  • camera charger and cable - so we can download direct to the computer and then empty the memory card and take more photos/videos
  • IPOD
speakers - so we can have a little music by the pool or on our balcony

Brita Water Bottle - Disney water is :scared1:

Neck lanyard with ID holder

Water Goggles for the pools & water parks

Metamusil :rolleyes1

Laundry soap & Bounce sheets

Waterproof Disposable camera

2nd pair of sneakers or walking shoes

WOW YOU ARE GOOD!!:worship:

I was thinking am going to get everything into a suitcase each!?:confused3
I think I need to rethink my packing, after reading your post. Going to the dollar tree when we are down there is a great idea. I was in our dollar store yesterday and was thinking I guess I have to get things for the beach.

Thanks for the ideas it really helps! :woohoo:

Thanks....I roll my clothes when packing, I get more room that way. We went to California last month and ds didn't even need to bring a second personal bag on the plane. I got all his stuff in my purse [which is a small back-pack....very small], oh! and that includes his DS game system and two games.

Dollar Tree is great! My kids like having pool noodles and making sand castles, so for about $5.00 they can have their fun and I don't have to pack the extra stuff.

I learned that packing ONLY comfy clothes is the way to go. For California I packed a pair of shorts, one pair capri's, 4 t-shirt's [I only wore three of them, brought one home clean] PJ's, a bathing suit and undies. I had TONS of room left in my carry-on. I wore a dress with capri's underneath on the plane and re-wore the same outfit once during vacation. That's all I needed. I was SO comfy! I wear my Disney Crocs all the time.

If I need anything on vacation, I'll buy it there! Blessings, S

I have a Disney box, that a put my stuff in when I get home so I have it together for the next trip.

As someone mentioned, I bring Glow Sticks and the light-up Mickey and Cinderella things I bought a few years ago. When you go to SpectroMagic and Fatasmic...your kids want this stuff and it is cheaper to bring them. Also a princess dress from Walmart also comes in handy
