Ok, I'm in the Forbidden Temple and there is a girl in there making racist remarks. I report her and get a "if you don't stop reporting people you will get banned" message. So now I take it that VMK supports racism?

No, that's just the "standard" message that VMK sends out to EVERYBODY that sends in a report.

I reported someone today for very rude behavior and received that same message. In about 10 minutes, however, he went poof right as he was speaking to me (telling me he was going to beat me up, haha), so I'm assuming it was a royal boot, not a voluntary move on his part.

Wow, sorry Cat. You know, I've come to the conclusion that the report button is not longer in use by vmk. It just goes to an automated response of a warning back to the person who tried to do a report. And I guess, the more you click it (to try to keep vmk a better place), then it counts against you and you'll be the one banned. I have decided to never report anything, or anyone, that I can't get away from. And considering that you can always go to another room or log off, I guess that mean never report anything. I really don't want to be banned, and especially don't want an ip ban so my kid can't play.

Nobody is going to get banned for reporting a legitimate report! You WILL get banned for FALSE reporting. It's just a standard message sent to all who use that button. They will investigate and take appropriate action. I am certainly not going to stop reporting people because of an irrational fear of being banned. If your report is legitimate, you have nothing to worry about.

same for me. on 9-11 a girl had made the twin towers out of boxes, and a boy comes up and starts to drive into the building and then said "I wish I was the one who ruined the twin towers! muhaha!"I reported him and it said the same message, although shortly after other ppl reported him vmk staff showed up and told us the rules, and so on. by the way im sorry that that happend to you cat! have a magical day on vmk!

yeah I got the same message for reporting someone that was very rude. I am afraid to report anything else now, don't want to get banned for someone else's rude behavior!

Well, I went to main page to Contact Us to report someone from a pirate game today. He was dictionary dancing all over the place, called me a bench and said duck you. He made a speedy departure from the lobby after game, but still got his screen name. This is why I won't let my kids play anymore. The so called values have gone down the toilet.

VMK is trying to put a stop to the people who are reporting bc they are acting like children. Nobody will be banned for a legit report.

There are a lot of kids on VMK who report bc somebody tells them they are ugly, they will not trade or other nonsense like that.

if you have a legit reason to report, you certainly should.

To give VMK the benefit of the doubt, back in beta I can recall alot of people being banned for no apparent reason. Then alot of us, including me, would go on writing campaigns to remove the ban for these people who were wrongly reported.

So I since I bet they get so many reports, depending who is moderating at the time may not be comfortable banning immediately and wants to review the process. Therefore a generic message is going to be received. The you might be banned for false reports message is warranted, since we know most of the reports I bet are false. What they should state is something similar to this, "We will check into the validity of your report, but if this is a false report you may be banned."

Since we are players and not behind the scenes, it is really hard to judge what in volumes they do receive as reports. I bet it is more than we can imagine. That has to be one difficult job to do. Kudos to those who do it.

I was going to report a player for asking a girl "do it with me" last night but then I became afraid of the BAN, but only for a second, so I followed him and was ready to hit his "report" button when he disapeared mid-sentence. I did get pics and I did send a report this morning to the black spot. I don't know what to do anymore... Maybe vmk should change that message...

I'm not understanding what ppl are so afraid of. I got this same message for reporting yesterday and it didn't faze me in the least. It says.... you will be banned for FALSE REPORTING!!! No where in that message does it say you will be banned for simply reporting someone. So where is this fear coming from?

They need to have that message read exactly the way it is. I can't imagine the number of reports they get from people that lost in a pirate game, or someone that's upset because I won't trade with them, or because I'm dancing in the lobby and they don't like that.... THAT'S what you will get banned for...not for reporting bad behavior and lewd comments.

Hmm..sorry to say I don't report anyone any more either...for the same reason!!. I don't like getting a message making me feel like I did someting WRONG when all I did was try and help them. If that is their response...then maybe they should say something like "Thank you we're looking into it"! Instead of instead of telling us to stop or we'll get banned!
Not trying to start anything here..just trying give my opinion here.

Also calling someone ugly..isn't very ncie..and if you don't stop that then thats when they go farther! I don't think that is nonse!! But hey..we could on and on.. about how we all feel...all I am saying is that it isn't a nice feeling to report things that are really not nice like bad words and then send a message saying we will get banned if we don't stop. The correct way I feel is is something like .."we'll look into it...at least that isn't offensive???

I see both points but I think the message is a little harsh. I do realize that I will not get banned for reporting and I will continue to report as I see fit to keep VMK safe but it is a little intimidating

I reported two players yesterday...

One told everyone she is staff but in disguise and then started making bad comments using dictionary dancing...

I reported as"this character is claiming to be staff and cast member and saying bad things while dictionary dancing"

I got a "thank you for helping to keep the kingdom safe" and she disappeared right afterwards.

The next person was just an annoying boy who was walking up to people saying "hits" and "kicks"- I reported him after I ignored him because other players who were obviously younger were becoming disturbed

I reported it as" this player is annoying other characters by saying he is violent" or something like that-

I got another thankyou message but he didn't dissappear- it took a long time for me to talk others to just click ignore- but eventually everyone did- it was kind of funny then the bad kid had a friend come in talking about people- and I just stated- "the problem we had with him went away when we all ignored and reported him- we could do the same with you too"

She stopped talking after that lol

So yes sometimes I think they get lots and lots of reports on the same person- or the message isn't clear- as to why the person is being reported and I agree that the dictionary limitations in the report feature is bad...

But like Pink has stated- if your report is legitimate then you will not be reported.

I know other players have threatened me for not trading, for winning at fireworks (you cheated lol), for not moving off a chair when demanded to move and many other things... no bans for me- but I'm sure some others could have gotten a ban...
