What the hell is going on with Tower of Terror...

As I don't want to rely only on the TP-wait-times, I spotted for around 2 weeks the recent wait times myself via apps (MDE and TP-lines), and as I know TP cannot be good in predictions for FoF and NR (not enough historical data), I'm shocked about ToT, not only that TP is completely wrong in predictions for this ride, in reality the actual wait time is always over 100mins. ***? I mean during my christmas-trips there we're at 9-10 days several times the day it was around 100mins, but never 150mins as at the moment where it should be a 5-6, and I alway was able to ride it at standby-line with max. 45mins during the day, but now also before official park opening the posted wait time is at least 60mins. And this is not only today, I watch it for 2 weeks now. And as TMM or RnRC have normal wait times, ToT feels like FoP. Also there is no fast pass availabilty 1 week out, as I sometimes could make sameday-FPs during Christmas time?

So is anybody actual there and could tell me what is going wrong at ToT? Is there only 1 or 2 elevators open of the full 6? Is it because of Halloween? Or why one cannot ride it standby anymore?

While I don't know what actually is happening, I can say that my Sunday 10/22 Fast Pass was cancelled as the ride was down. We checked back a few times Sunday and Monday and it was still down.

Today looks absolutely packed at HS. I’ve peeked periodically too and ToT does look crazy. I would suspect some elevators down too.

We were at DHS this past Monday 10/23. Tower of Terror had only 1/2 of the elevators working all day. One side of the tower was not operational. We went to use our FP around 2pm and the FP wait was 45 minutes! The FP was turned into an anytime FP and we opted to try ToT again that evening around 6pm. The FP line was down to 15 minutes, but the standby line was still NUTS!

Thank you. So it's really nuts and it seems they have big operational problems. Hope they fix it soon and before march.
I wanted to ride it again at night, but would not set one of my initial FP+s in the evening, so that I don't have any chance for a 4th FP+...

As a PP stated, they're only running at 1/2 capacity. We were there Friday and the wait was 60 minutes for stand by(at 9:30 am) and when we exited, they were only letting in people with FP!!

Just got back from a 12 night trip. Could not get on tower over whole trip. Constantly down or only one elevator running for fast pass only. Even on the VIP tour I took, they had to sub in an extra ride on Rockin Roller Coaster because of operational problems with Tower. Very frustrating.

We ended up skipping our last FP for it yesterday, its our traditional last ride on departure day but all last week they were at half capacity or down completely. We waited 45 minutes with a FP on Wednesday so we didn't have time to wait. Very frustrating!

We were there on 10/26 and the wait was at least an hour every time I checked. We did RnR pretty early with the hope of hitting ToT as well, but the waits were already high. Mid afternoon my son was doing the single rider for RnR and he said that people were talking about ToT being shut down and only FPs being allowed on. It definitely seems like something was off that day :(

As others have said it is at 1/2 capacity all week. We made 4 trips over 2 Sunday’s before FP+ wait was less than45 minutes

Might they only be running half capacity because the crowds that are normally there just aren’t? I know it looks busy, but considering half the park is closed for new lands and other people absorbing rides like TGMR closed perhaps it just feels more crowded? Considering the drop off in attendance there that has been going on since at least summer I could see them cutting back on people and park operations including only running some rides at half capacity.

As someone who was on the ground and talked to the ToT CM’s — it did not in any way appear to be a planned decision to run the ride at half capacity. In fact, there were lots of CMs standing around. They stated that one side of the tower was “down,” which resulted in FP line being as high as a 45-min wait and all ToT FPs turning into any ride/any time FPs. Crowd level was 6 out of 10. Waits for ToT were crazy high while other rides and attractions were at comparable levels to each other.

It is ridiculous they only half the elevators are running when this park is down to so few rides. That just can't happen. Maybe for a short time, but this is the time to have everything running full bore and give some folks a short wait on something. Bad move for Disney is they are really only running half the ride to save money. Especially in this park.

I went last Friday and heading over tomorrow. Last Friday, we were in the FP line when it was announced that wait times will be a longer wait. When we got up there, only 2 elevators were working.

I'm mean, who knows, but there are rumors of big layoffs coming. We shall see. I hope not.

Same thing for us during our trip. 10/23 FP was changed to anytime. Only 1/2 the elevators were running. We passed and rode RNRC instead. We'll catch it in January.

I hope they have it together by then for my trip!

Today when we tried it was a 2 1/2 hr standby with a *40* minute wait for those WITH fast passes. We decided to skip it and come back another day- A fast pass is not a fast pass with 40 minutes of waiting.
