What temperature do you run your A/C at?

When you run your A/C, what temperature do you normally run it at? We live in South Florida, so we have A/C on pretty much year round, we normally have it set at around 75 (both night and day). Although if I know we're going to be spending a lot of time inside in the next few hours, sometimes I'll turn it down to 74 (or if lots of company are coming over down to 72-73).

Was wondering what other people set their A/C at (I was just reading another thread and they said they normally have their's set to 73 during the day, and it made me wonder what people set them at).

Thanks!

Yea, before we had the baby (now mom and baby stay at home during the day), I normally had it on 77-78 during the day. But sometimes if it gets really hot out, it can fight to stay at 78, so we dropped it down to 75 for when the baby and mom stay at home.

We are 75'ish. Not a digital so it's just eyeballed.

:worried: I set ours at 70 - it kicks on at 72...no wonder I'm always cold.

Central Alabama here and we set ours to 74 during the day and around 65 at night. Any higher than that while I'm sleeping and I wake up with nightsweats. It's amazing how many small ways menopause has changed my life!

If I'm doing much cooking, I also lower it a bit during the day. Hot kitchens often induce hot flashes. :rotfl:

I have a programmable thermostat so I have mine set for 79 when no one's home, drop it down to 76 around 4 and 75 around 9 when we're upstairs for the evening. On the weekend, it's stays at 75 since we're in and out.

80 during the day when no one but the animals are home and 74 when we are home (programmable). We have a 2 story and I like it cold to sleep, so we need to keep it at 74 to get the air up to the bedrooms. If that wasn't an issue I would probably keep it at 76-78 when we are home.

i live in n. florida and I run ours on 78 in the day and 77 or 76 at night...our house stays cool so we dont have to put it on very low

Jacksonville - usually at 77, but might bump it down to 76 every once in a while. In the winter we set the heat to 72-74 ish.

in the summer, ours is usually at 77; however, with the price of everything going up, i've bumped it up to 79 and we use the ceiling fans at night in the bedrooms. during the winter, it's on 68 and i'm usually freezing in sweats, slippers and a fleece blanket, but DH and DD are comfortable in long sleeves and bare feet, lol.
