Tell me some of the strange things your dogs do!

Zoey, the dog in my avatar, isn't much of a barker. But if we leave the attic door open, she'll go up there and bark to her heart's content! There's nothing up there -- no mice or anything, and we're certain of that. She'll just look out the windows and bark and bark. When she comes downstairs, she goes back to being quiet again.

Tell me some of the strange things your dogs do!

My dog who is not normally allowed into the bedrooms- will hide in my closet if it is raining outside. If we are no where near the bedroom though he has been known to jump up in our laps when scared too.

Poor thing is scared to get wet. If it is just lightly sprinkling and he has to go out to the bathroom- he will cry at the sky for it and will hold it in and do the "I got to go" dance until it stops raining.

My dog is a border collie/ austrailian shepard mix- so a big big dog.

Our dog sits with his bottom on the couch and his back legs up in the air.

My cat likes to attack my hair dryer cord when I am drying my hair. He doesn't care about it when it is off. He must dislike the sound. :upsidedow

Our Lhasa watches Fineas & Ferb. I don't know why, but she loves it. She whines when it's over. We can't watch The Dog Whisperer because she barks non-stop at the dogs on screen - but never at the humans. And she likes shows with elephants but she gives a couple of growls at Katie Couric (almost as if she's saying "change the channel" - so I do). She sleeps through all the political stuff. This is the first dog we've ever had that actually "watches" TV, and as a critic, to boot.

My dog is just the opposite, she will do anything to get wet, play in the sprinkler, go outside and sit in the rain, stick her head in the shower.

Fergie likes to sleep directly on me when I get into bed. Not near me, but on top of me. She waits until I get comfy and then plops herself on me. And since she is not a petite flower, it feels like a brick hitting me.

Simon the Fat Cat loves cantalope. He gets very aggressive in an attempt to get some. He will swat at our spoons and use his claws to try and steal a piece, he will claw a whole melon that is on the kitchen counter and he will knock over the trash can to get at the rinds.

Simon also lays on the top of our recliners on his belly with his legs hanging down on both sides.

Deck'Ster shreds napkins - she stalks the table or even the cabinet where they are stored in hopes of getting a fresh one and then will roll all over the kitchen floor shredding her napkin. Now, if she could learn to sweep.......

Baxter is just old, he watches the antics of the other 2 from afar. ;)

Our cat, Simba, drinks water from his dish by dipping his paw into the water and licking the water off his paw. What's up with that?! He will occasionally drink the normal way, but does this more often.

My dog doesn't like dog biscuits or rawhides - unless another dog is visiting, then it becomes a "possession thing".

If you give her a treat, she'll walk around the house completely obsessed with hiding it, and hiding it well. She usually picks a chair or sofa, shoves it in between the cushions, and then starts "pushing" with her nose imaginary dirt to cover it up. :lmao:

When another dog comes to visit, she will immediately run to get her treats and devour them. Otherwise, she never touches them.

I have 2 Cocker Spaniels. One thing they both like to do it lick water at the bottom of the shower door while I am showering. A gross thing they both like to do is eat bugs!

Our cocker, Stanley will ONLY drink from the water bowl we have for him in our master bathroom. We have a water bowl right here in the kitchen but he will go upstairs, drink and then return to his bed on our first floor. :confused3 I guess the water must be cooler. Who knows.

My little bratty cat (not the one in the sig) likes to get up onto my new dresser and look at himself in the mirror!

Funny! Our dog will sit at attention when there is barking on the TV, but she has never bothered watching it until we were flipping through channels the other night and Scooby Doo was on. She was completely fascinated by watching Scooby!

I've never seen a dog that will "watch" TV!

Our older dog is like that too. She's a horse, so it's not fun when she comes into the shower. I had to laugh the other day, DH and I took them to a field to let them play and there was a creek circling the field. I didn't think it would be a problem because she's got hip dysplasia and there was a steep bank to get down to the creek. Nope, didn't faze her a bit. She got down into the creek and plopped herself right in the middle of it and started rolling around. We had a heckuva time getting her back out. Have to cross that field off our list of playgrounds.

My 8 year old cat Peanut sucks his toes. Only his hind right foot :confused3
My mom has his brother (Furby) and he licks plastic bags and doors :confused3

Little feline freaks if you ask me :)

My little dog isn't afraid of anything. As a matter of fact, she is the "watch dog" for the street. She will hop up on things and look out to make sure no one comes to the yard. She doesn't even like the gardeners in the back yard. But for some reason she is scared to death of the air conditioner. When it goes on, she hides under the beds till it shuts off.

I have a 14 1/2-year-old cocker spaniel, Tara, who demands rides in the car. She will position herself at the door and wait. If my mother and I ignore her, she'll come back to wherever we are and start jumping and literally smacking us. If we tell her no and to go lie down, she'll get mad and go pee in the hallway.

Here's the spoiled brat...

The other weird thing that she does is when she's given her allergy medication - she doesn't like it and she has learned how to "palm" it. She fakes swallowing it, then goes and hides it under a chair.

My cat Dusty is sooo silly. He plays hide and seek. He hides under the table and when you walk by, he jumps out and hugs your leg.. He hogs the bed.. Steals straws, pony tail holders *scrunches* and plays with a little stuffed dog.. lol.. He carries it with him when he leaves the living room.. :goodvibes

One of my cats likes to watch cartoons on the tv as well. She is not at all particular about which cartoon, just watches them all in general. She could not care less about any show with live action...:thumbsup2
