What store carries the Rice Krispies sheets?

I would have thought the same thing - if I hadn't just seen them in 7-11!

Well, sure - if you can't easily find the premade sheets; and they are expensive. But don't forget how much easier clean-up is with the purchased sheets ;).

Clean-up takes about 2 minutes....just run hot water into the pot or bowl you used (whether you did stove top or microwave) and wash it out......

These would be fun for a birthday party activity tho, give the kids sheets, let them cut out and decorate shapes.....

I saw them at 7-11 but it was around Christmas.

The homemade ones are tastier, but if your kids go to a school or daycare where only storebought pre-packaged treats are allowed, or if there's a kid with allergies whose mom wants to look at a package before allowing her kid to eat a treat, these are really handy.

I haven't seen them at all but I suppose I haven't really looked either.

For those of you saying they are just as easier to make and taste better, I'm sorry but I disagree. They are always a sticky mess, hard to spread, stick to everything except the darn pan I'm spreading them in and they are NOT as sweet as the pre-made. Clearly the pre-made ones must have added sugar and probably vanilla too.

I spray my splatula with Pam, or use waxed paper to press it into the pan, heck I use waxed paper in the pan when I spread it, makes it really easy to cut. I've added vanilla a time or two, but personally, we prefer it the "regular" way, but as I said before we use more marshmallows and less cereal. :)

Home made ones taste sooo much better too!!:thumbsup2
Yeah, we all prefer peanut butter in ours (preferably crunchy peanut butter), but other people like chocolate chips, red hots, and other taste-specific goodies.

One bowl for mixing, which goes right into the dishwasher. One pan into which the Rice Krispies are dropped, which -- again -- goes into the dishwasher once the treats are gone.

In my book, that's not trouble -- not when you consider that homemade treats (made with store-brand cereal) are a cheap snack and the purchased ones are quite expensive.

I can understand the taking-them-to-school thing. You have to abide by school rules; however, I'd be surprised if any moms used to dealing with allergies didn't already know what's in Rice Krispies, and if they're at my house I'll certainly tell them what's in the treats. I wouldn't buy an expensive product just on the off chance that someone has an allergy.

If you're ending up with a sticky mess, you're not using enough marshmellow. With enough marshmellow, the stuff clumps together and forms a ball -- it doesn't even stick to the bowl in which it's mixed, if you do it right. If you save the butter wrapper and use it to press your treats into the pan, you won't even get your hands dirty.

My overall evaluation of the topic: Many people today just never learned to cook. I grew up making everything from scratch, so it's very easy for me. When you've done it for years, you learn little shortcuts to personalize things as you like them and to avoid messes.

I wish I could be surprised that this is even a product! I could of made a couple sheets in the time it took to read through the thread! :confused3

I also thought it was about bed sheets. :rotfl:

I've seen it at our local cake and candy place. They offer them mostly for people who would mold them into fancy shapes and cover them with fondant for cakes and such.

Can you mold these into shapes after they're "set up"? I have molds for Rice Krispie treats, but I press the mix into them while it's still -- not quite the right word, but all I can think of -- "wet".

Thanks for all of the great responses. I was able to find them at my local WALGREENS! Thanks again!

I've never heard of them! I've seen the individually wrapped ones but they taste off, kind of like chemicals. For $10 I could make a lot of Rice Krispie Treats, although this would be great to decorate for a quick surprise.

OK so here is a question for the "homemade" ones...I too LOVE to make it and have even sprayed my hands with PAM for less of a sticky situation :rotfl2:

But here is my question...how do you incorporate Peanut Butter?? I LOVE PB and Chocolate, so If I make the choco covered ones that had PB in them??? OMG!!!!!!:stir:

PLEASE LET THIS MOM KNOW!?!?!?!

:)THANKS

Not as sweet is a good thing (although how can something made with so many marshmallows not be super sweet in the first place)! Homemade must be a lot lighter on the preservatives as well. I still say they are super easy to make. As someone already posted, use waxed paper to press them into the pan.

You could use Cocoa Krispies to make these = chocolate and peanut butter.
