What state do you leave your house in when you go to work?

Retired. So I don't leave my house to go to work.

Neat. Either DH or I make the bed, scoop the litter box and empty the dishwasher before we leave for work every morning. There is probably a little clutter here and there, but I try to keep my house in a "I wouldn't be embarrassed if someone stopped by unexpectedly" state.

I work from home so I don't leave my house to go to work either. The bed gets made about 75% of the time before starting work. I usually do various quick odds and ends in between things for work. Like move a load of laundry from washer to dryer or wipe some counters down when I'm in the kitchen for another cup of coffee.

My dumb self read the question twice before opening the thread and still thought the correct answer was “Georgia?” :rotfl:

I don’t “go” to work so I get to sit in the mess all day. :p I’ve learned that getting comfortable with it is a lot better than driving myself crazy trying to keep up a standard that quickly gets destroyed by the little people I live with.

disclaimer-my family teases me about this big time.

retired BUT the bed has to be made right after it is vacated. WHY? because i watch way too many true crime shows and they always show photos of the victim's bedroom with the unmade bed and everything a mess so the household rule of thumb is-leave it in a manner you would be proud to have crime scene photos taken :crazy2: :rotfl2:

Same here I work from home and we have a dog no kids. It always seems like no matter how much we clean the house dog hair is always around so we don’t stress ourselves out about it.

I don’t go to work so my house is always in that limbo stage. Somewhere in between spotless and dirty…..closer to dirty. 😁

Rarely perfect, but rarely terrible. When I am tempted to leave a mess I recall the day that the neighbor was having a mental breakdown and the police got involved and for some reason, entered our home while the kids were at school and DH and I were at work. I generally just get myself off to work and the kids off to school and worry about the mess in the evening, but for some reason the house was unusually messy that day and it bothered me enough to delay going to work for 20 minutes and straighten up a bit. When I later learned that the police were all through my house I felt very relieved I had cleaned up and saved myself some embarrassment.

Wake up, take a shower, pack a lunch, go to work. It's too dang early to clean. However it was last night is how it's left in the morning.

Never make the bed. Why bother, I don't understand it. I don't go in there let alone anyone who would be at my place.

If your state is prone to twisters, let's say Kansas, then technically you could walk out of your house in an entirely different state, let's say Oklahoma. Which would be handy if you were commuting in that direction for work anyway. Just try to remember where you parked.

So use this handy guide, fellow Disboardiacs, to see which state you leave your house in when you go to work:

PS: "How come you make me sad and no show Canada or other countries?"
Because the dude asked about STATES, silly.
