Just over 2 weeks out for the family's first trip to WDW!! I have FPs scheduled and ADRs made. I was wondering if you have to stand in line, which ride makes that wait tolerable/enjoyable for you?
Please list the ride(s) that you do not mind waiting in the standby que.
For example HM has an entertainment factor while waiting for the actual attraction. It is also for the most part a "shaded wait" if I'm not mistaken.
So if you have to wait in line, what is the most pleasant and/or entertaining in your opinion?
Also list your least favorite if possible.
Thanks

Haven't done it yet, just did FP+, but I hear Peter Pan is good to wait stand-by (just close to park opening/closing though, otherwise not worth the wait. On our plans for December.

I though the new PP standby line was pretty neat (the last time we were there it had just opened). If you have kids the one for Winnie the Pooh has some fun interactive stuff for keep them busy. 7DMT is supposed to have a neat wait, but I have never seen it and would never suggest choosing it over a FP...its way to long.

I'm willing to wait two hours for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. It's new to us and wasn't available via FP+.

Peter Pan's Flight
Haunted Mansion
7 Dwarfs
Space Mountain (not as exciting as the others, but it does have a game)
Winnie the Pooh (more for small children)
Expedition Everest (not interactive, but the themeing is amazing)
Big Thunder Mountain (lots of interactive pieces, but it gets very hot/humid in there)

I will not wait more than 20 minutes for a ride, so all of those are conditional on wait times for me personally, but if you have to go standby they are pretty good options

Expedition Everest
Kali River Rapids
TOT
Space Mountain
Test Track

For me, it is not the lines I mind waiting in, it is the amount of time I am willing wait. I will generally wait in any line that is 30 minutes or less. There are some I would occasionally be willing to wait in 60 minutes or less, such as TSM, StarTours, Safari, and possibly SDMT since I have not rode that yet. I am intrigued by the images I have seen for PP, which is one of my favorite movies, so I will probably ride that standby at least once the next time I am at WDW, but I would only be willing to wait about 45 minutes or less.

The thing to remember is that even tough there are interactive features in some lines, some of those features are only in certain spots and you might not be held at that spot. Also, if someone was already in the section, a child has been known to stay and play while their family moved on.

Any line is worth waiting in if you want to do the ride.

Which lines have "fun" elements (some are more fun, but all listed have something beyond a line with nothing to look at)?

Jungle cruise
Pirates
Thunder mountain
Haunted mansion
Peter Pan
Winnie the Pooh
7 dwarfs
Aerial's ride
Dumbo
Space mountain
Buzz lightyear

Test track

Tower of terror
Star tours
Toy story mania
Muppet vision

Safari
Everest
Kali
DINOSAUR

Pirates, always cool and dark-ish, and interesting.

EE isn't bad, but gets hot and stuffy quickly.

PP was..eh. Some cool stuff, but, eh.

Just got back a couple weeks ago and these are my favorites:

Magic Kingdom:

7DMT: has some games that you can play while waiting where you have to match the jewels in the cart to the jewels floating along
EE: Like others have said, exceptional theming
Space Mountain: Has a game that stretches a good portion of the SB wait area.
HM: Interactive since being refurbished
Buzz Lightyear: Lifesize buzz that talks to you and moves
BTMR: Haven't waited in SB in a couple years, but you can watch the ride go along (does get really hot though waiting)
Monster's Inc: You can submit jokes ahead of time and there's a video
Winnie the Pooh: Life size book pages (did see some cockroaches there though)
Pirates: Very good theming as well (this may still be getting refurbished

EPCOT:
TT: Interactive and cool futuristic things to look at
MS: Cool spacey models (once you get inside though)

ANIMAL KINGDOM:
Everest: Awesome theming! (you could spend a good hour and look at and read everything)
Safari: Video playing (Shaded as well)
Kali River Rapids: Very well done Asia theme as well
Dinosaur: Exhibits to look at (kids will enjoy it, very informational with skeletons and info)

Hollywood Studios:
TT: Another awesome theming project
Great Movie Ride: Props and costumes from movies and a nice video (air conditioned as well)
TSMM: You get to walk through a room full of toys from the perspective a toy (everything's huge) plus giant Mr. Potato Head that talks and moves (Big picture spot as well which holds up the line)
ST: A lot of stuff to look at including C3PO and R2D2

Anything I didn't mention doesn't have a lot to do or look at so you are just waiting. Hope this helps!

Other than the long and endless Soarin SB queue, PP is my least favorite. Last trip I wasn't a big fan of the new interactive PP queue and it's one if those SB lines that you think it's short but there's always another turn or room. Maybe because it was our longest wait. Said 20 minutes just after Wishes but was more like 35-40...

I've never noticed any interactive stuff on BTMRR! But we usually ride it at RD or with FP. Will have to be more observant next trip.

HM is a good one as is 7DMT.

I don't like the ones with the interactive stuff since it tends to cause a backup with everyone wanting to play the games. I love the EE line, I can just look at all that stuff all day. Love Great Movie Ride line most of it's shaded when you aren't inside and once inside loads of interesting stuff to see. The Jungle Cruise line is fun is you listen to the announcements. Just about any of them that are in the shade are all right with me, we just look for hidden mickey's.

Yeah, we were the people holding up the line for the Haunted Mansion...! ;) My daughter likes the line better than the ride, lol.

Definitely PPF, saw it right after they had finished when I was there in the spring, they did such a good job with the area! It's an attraction in itself. Just a tip: I would go there early if I were you, that ride gets very busy throughout the day...

Also, if you were not able to get a FP for 7DMT (I know it can be difficult) That is also a great ride with an awesome themed line!

As PPs said, HM is great as well.

Have a magical vacation!!!!

HM by far!
Everest
Space Mountain

For atmosphere:
Nemo
Little Mermaid (MK)
Kali River Rapids
BTMRR but it does get humid in there as a PP said

Beware, the kids playing the games in the line at Winnie the Pooh can be extremely loud game-noise-wise and after a while it was starting to give me a migraine. When all the toys go at once it sounds unbearable to me. I'm all for having fun but after 20 minutes I wanted to sledgehammer everything haha!

My favorite queues are Tower of Terror and Everest. I never mind waiting in the stand-by for those. They are so perfectly themed, you almost forget you are waiting to get on a ride. Also Haunted Mansion has a great interactive queue.
