We are going for 17 nights in the middle of June / early July. Our back half is set with 10 nights in a CCV Studio. What would you do on the front end from the choices below? We are currently in a BRV 1 Bedroom for the first 7 nights. Regarding the poll choices, we typically would prefer Kidani over Jambo, but with the roof work scheduled for Kidani we'd rather not be near that in case it is loud.

ETA: I appreciate the thoughts you are all giving, but the only options we are considering are what I have in the poll question. This is due to the # of points required.

They are all fun choices for different reasons, but if points and bed options are not part of the equation, then I would choose BWV. That way you are close to HS and Epcot for part of your vacation. I also love the night time vibe of the boardwalk.

Second choice would be Jambo, as I love AKL as a home away from the parks hustle and bustle.

Third choice is OKW, as I love the vibe of this resort. I also love all the space in the rooms.

If you have to move rooms, personally I would choose a totally different resort from the 2nd part of the stay... so I wouldn't do BRV or CCV. That way you get a change of scenery and proximity to different parts of WDW.

Thanks.

BWV causes us to borrow 3 or 4 more points so not a huge issue. I think if the Boardwalk View became available we'd probably grab that. We've had a couple of not so great rooms when doing Garden / Pool.

OKW scares us if we don't have our car. We aren't sure if we are flying or driving yet.

We have stayed at OKW with and without a car. It's not as bad as you think without a car.. especially if you get the near HH category.

For a trip this long, I'd go AK studio savanna view. I feel like there's never enough time to sit on that balcony and watch the animals. I'd gladly drag some laundry around for a few days for that. With a trip at this pace, savanna view would be so neat.

It doesn't use enough points (and isn't available). We did a poor job of banking / borrowing so have a minimum number of points we need to use. It's gotta be a 1 bedroom the first 7 days.

Even easier. AKL 1BR a few days, and somewhere else the rest. I'd take the triple split stay for a few chill days on the savanna. It's one of my DVC bucket list wishes.

Jambo for me. I agree it is out of the way though for anything other than AK. I just love Sanaa & Boma, not to mention the lobby and the animals.

Thanks. As noted, CCV Studio is set for the last 10 nights. I refuse to do a triple split......

I think it depends what your plans are for those days. If you are going to visit the parks, in this case Epcot or HS, I would say either Riviera or Boardwalk. Boardwalk would be my first choice since you can easily walk, and with Riviera in the summer, those intermittent occasional thunderstorms, the skyliner would be closed and you would be forced to use bus transportation. Boardwalk is also pretty reasonable with point usage.

If you are mostly eating, lounging, shopping or plan to do any other theme parks, off property activities etc. I would choose Saratoga or Old Key. There are always rooms available, many different pool areas and the point usage is excellent. The walk to Disney Springs is nice or you can use the boat.

If you want to do some hotel lounging, safari at night, great food, and see the animals daily, I would choose Animal.

We have stayed at all of them except Riviera so far and they all have their own charm.

BWV gives you a chance to spend the first half in the Epcot/HS resort area. Jambo would be a really close alternative because I adore AKV but I think all the activities and proximity of things to BWV would sway me that direction.

I agree with others that a change of scenery is warranted! AKV would be my second choice, BTW.

My opinions:

AKV - no savanna so probably not
BRV - refurbed! but same general resort for 17 days is a bit much
BWV - probably the best bet for variety, but I do not like G/P view and it's just before a refurb. But it takes my vote if you find BW view available
CCV - same resort for 17 days is a bit much
OKW - solid option! 1BR is big, near HH is good if car-less (but parking is tougher with a car)
SSR - my vote and a darkhorse here. Our SSR stays have been better than our AKV, BLT, and OKW stays and I feel it's really underrated. Benefits from a car as much as OKW. However, there will always be another chance to stay here another time considering its chronic availability.

OKW scares us if we don't have our car. We aren't sure if we are flying or driving yet.
We visited OKW in April 2022 with boys aged 7,4, and 2. We stayed in a 2BR and I remember telling my wife we would never be able to afford a cash room that nice or large at WDW. I loved the resort and its overall ambiance. It is also one of the reasons we decided to buy DVC a few months later. We found the resort to be relaxing after a park day and during resort days. However, the bus rides to the parks were a little long at times with young kids.

Agree with all of the comments…I would definitely pick something totally different than your 10 night stay. BWV is my vote for location and ambiance.
Following that closely is SSR or OKW for Florida vibe and relaxation. SSR edges this out as it’s closer to DS and I want nothing more than a week near DS to eat at all the places…granted the near HH at OKW puts you near the boat which is awesome.
AKV would be my second choice if savanna view just because the resort is so peaceful. But we walked SO much on a 2 night stay there that I can’t imagine a 7 night one! We also had more bud problems there.

It's funny because we stayed at Kidani for 7 nights in December and absolutely loved it and it was the best bus service we've ever had. We've come to realize that we basically had the perfect room. Same floor as the lobby and just a few doors down from the exit to the bus service.

Honestly there is no wrong answer here. 17 nights will be a glorious trip! I would choose BWV for ease of park entry, my second choice would be OKW- Florida theme versus woodsy theme.
Just us but not a fan of going from a larger accommodation to a smaller accommodation. We try to do the opposite, smaller accommodation first, then larger. I myself would book a studio at SSR or OKW. Then I don't feel like I have made a step down. Both SSR and OKW have studios available for the time frame you indicate. But I understand wanting to maximize your stay at CCV- its a beautiful resort and we really love it there.

We have never stayed at CCV or BRV but always find ourselves visiting the resort when we are at WDW. It and RIV are the two we always find our ways to. So, 10 nights at CCV, even at the end is something we want to do. If we could afford 7 nights at SSR in a studio and then 10 nights at CCV in a 1 BR we would do that, but it's a bit too many points. I refuse to stay in an OKW studio....I need my couch to lounge during the day.

Understood- good point about the absence of a couch :-) Have a wonderful trip and let us know which one you ultimately choose!

We are utilizing this strategy during our trip by doing a Poly studio and then the 2BR at AKV. Hoping we will feel less cramped than if we reversed the stays.
