Just curious what types of things have been done for you at restaurants if your server knew you were celebrating a special occasion. I've read several dining reports where people mentioned being given free desserts, which I think is very sweet and wonderful, but since we are on the DDP and will be ordering dessert anyway I know we won't be able to eat any extra sweets.

I would feel bad turning it down or wasting it. What have you done?

We are doing Narcoossee's, CA Grill, Kona, Le Cellier, Coral Reef and I already know EXACTLY what I HAVE to have for dessert in those restaurants!

We celebrated our silver anniversary at Disney, but no special food. Coral Reef they sat us right next to the aquarium and gave us a special card to wish us Happy Anniversary. At WS, in UK we were seated on the patio. I requested it when we came up, and then our "vibrator" didn't work, and when I checked half an hour later, they had been looking for me. I think the reason they did not give it to someone else even tho we had been lost was because of that.
Our special meal at Cali Grill was a bust tho. The waitress was rude to the point that I was reduced to tears. I wasn't looking for anything special, just a nice meal.
It was rather low-key. When I made ADR's they just asked if this was a special celebration. We didn't make a big deal of it, and several places did not acknowledge it (not sure if it was mentioned in all the reservations).

We just celebrated are 25th in April. We went to CG, Narcoossee's, Citrico's
& V & A. Make sure it's on all your ress that it's your Ann. And get your Anninversary Button. But the best thing we did besides the food was the Segway tour. That was the best! Happy Anninversery!

Kona Cafe Breakfast - Free Dessert for our anniversary trip

Victoria & Albert's - Free dessert bread from head pastry chef for anniversary trip

LeCellier - Anniversary Card for anniversary trip

Saratoga Springs - Card and balloon bouquet on our anniversary, one for DS's 2nd Birthday, and one on my 35th Birthday

Chef Mickey's - Cupcake for DS's 2nd Birthday

50's PTC - Cupcake and signed card from the family (every diner in our section) for DS because his birthday was tomorrow and we were 'too cheap' to get him a card or cake. (Cousin Mikey is the best)

Narcoossee's - Personalized Menu and Personalized Dessert for my 35th Birthday

We celebrated our 15th anniversary at Coral Reef in February. Since we were on the DDP and got desserts, the server gave us two chocolate "signs" that said Best Wishes on them. Along with two of the little plastic dolphins that come on the kids drinks. Nothing huge, but it was just a sweet thing for her to do for us.

For my b-day I always get a cupcake or cream puff but the best was at Chef Mickeys...I ordered a small cake because our nieces were with us and when our waiter brought it over Mickey and Minnie, Goofy and Chip and Dale all came over with their handlers and "sang" happy b-day to me

For our 10th Anniversary my dh called private dining and had them set up a table outside at the GF so we could dine and watch fireworks at the same time.

Our 15th anniversary we dined on the Breathless while watching fireworks.

20th Anniversary we spent at the CR and had room service set up our appetizers and drinks just prior to the MK fireworks show. After the fireworks was over room service came back to deliver our entree and a small custom cake.

I am a HUGE fireworks buff and have enjoyed many of my milestones at WDW.:thumbsup2

On our Honeymoon we got

Chef Mickey's, Free Cupcake and "It's My Special Day" place mats

Artist Point, Special Menu that said something like Happy Honeymoon on it and a free Berry Cobbler (felt bad about this because neither DH or I liked the berries that were on it)

Peco's Bills (yeah I know not a TS), free chocolate chip cookies

I did a bridal brunch at CRT and had a decorated table and was given toasting flutes

We also ate at Le Cellier, but nothing special happened there.
