What special event is happening at DCA tonight? (10th September)

We're staying in the DVC villas in the Grand Californian, and there's some kind of special event happening at DCA - there's music playing (the DJ claimed that Mickey was on the dancefloor "breaking it down" ), all of Paradise Pier is lit up and some of the rides are operating. Oh, and they got a performance of World of Color put on for them!
I'm being nosy and just wondering who these lucky people are who get to be in the park dancing at night!

It was actually a private party held for more than one contest. Verizon was one of the places holding a contest and the winners got to go (as Disney Dreams posted above), but also Ralphs & Coke had a contest and many of their winners got the WoC tickets too (as well as other prizes). There may have even been other contests involved.

Screaming Over California sounds like an interesting combination of Soarin' Over California and California Screamin' - I didn't know they'd added a loop to Soarin'

I didn't win any contests to get entry to this. Did anyone go? Was it fun, extra fun?

We went and had a blast! I thought it was very well organized. The food lines were a little long but we waited a while and found them more managable toward the end. The character interactions were what sealed the deal for us. Interactions that you just can't get in the parks with so many people around. All of the boardwalk games were free and everyone won a small prize just for playing the game! Verizon had a photo booth and were taking pics and printing them out right there for you at no cost. Vitamin Water had a small stand and were handing out free Vitamin water throughout the party. DJ playing great music the entire time and keeping the crowd pumped. They had a water feature running on the lake throughout the party that added a very nice touch to the whole affair. Definitely a night to remember!!!
