What sounded like a great tip...but wasn't!

Be aware of where the chargers, batteries, SD cards and power cord or small three plugs adapters are...don't forget to double check them, and pack them.

I had my semi smart phone with me, but didn't know it was on Bluetooth. I drained out til it was dead at HS one night when I got separated from my group. I just sat and sat where I last saw them....

Dah, I guess I could have had a CM call them for me! Now I carry a power boost with the smart phone just in case. They drain so much power with videos, pictures, and directions that it comes in handy.

I needed a second battery and SD card the last trip, even with a photo pass. The last trip I didn't take the sloppy wet ponchos, I bought light foldable rain resistant jackets from Cabellas with a hood $44 for we girls. It had a breathable liner.
Much happier and have them in real life, everyday too.

Worst tip for our family...."Park your car and take the bus EVERYWHERE"

Maybe for some, but with a stroller (trip 1) or double stroller (trip 2)...no, no, no.

I know I'm not going to the wilderness! :rolleyes1 I wouldn't take any of those things if I was! I'm glad you don't feel you need those things, but please don't put done those of us that do! It's been a while since I was on DISBoards and I can't believe how rude the comments have become! I thought the point of the all the threads were to ask questions and help a fellow Disney fanatic out, not put them down!

OP asked all of us what tips we did NOT find useful. I'm a bit surprised that my answering the question would offend anyone.

Maybe you misread?

I didn't see anything rude in your comment at all. Was frankly surprised anyone would take it that way.

"Try the Dole Whip!"

This made me laugh!!!!!! I'm amazed how many people go crazy over the stuff, like this is the best thing ever created anywhere on earth. If you don't try it, you've deprived yourself and your family of a tiny bit of Heaven that you'll never get back. If there's one thing you do in all of Disney, it has to be a Dole Whip! No trip is complete until you've had one of these amazing treats!

I know it's non-dairy, but it's basically vanilla soft-serve with pineapple juice. That's it. Where's the awe in that???? And I know I've just insulted countless DISers who totally disagree with me. :rolleyes1

I don't really care for the dole whip either, especially to wait in a long line for it. And surprise, you can get it anywhere. Lots of people probably don't realize that its all over the country if you look for it (and half the price). I actually like the citris swirl at the Sunshine Tree Terrace (next to Tiki Birds) way more, but thats blasphemy ;)

I have held off saying that same thing for fear of retaliation ;) it was okay, but it was far from the best treat I had in Disney

It's very funny how certain things work great for some people and not for others. We had never been the type to take a break in the middle of the day, but this last trip we had a little one with us so we decided to take everyone's advice and take midday breaks. It didn't work well for us at all. It was too much travel time for too little rest! That being said, I am going to play it by ear this trip and if a midday break seems necessary then we will take one. Otherwise, we will let our son nap in his stroller and just find ways to get some breaks in the parks. I also felt like using Disney transportation did not work well for us. At the end of a long day, I do not want to wait an hour for a bus or have to stand on a bus holding a heavy baby.

On the other hand, some of the things people mentioned on here as things they dislike are things we love! Can't imagine not having park hoppers, because we like to spend multiple days in MK but we prefer to eat at Epcot. Also, I thought a power strip came in handy and I think the pop up hamper is a great idea too! To each their own! :rotfl2:
