After dropping DS and his friends at a movie I heard the song Cats in the Cradle on the way home and I was almost in tears, it totally choked me up! Ds is 15 and his sister is a freshman at college and I miss her so much. The song made me realize soon he will be gone also. My DH travels alot and the song really hit home, although he has always taken time to be with them. They grow so fast:(

Circle of Life from the Lion King...always.

"I hope you dance" by Leanne Womack - I tear up everytime I hear it. *sniff*

I always get a tear in my eye when listening to the wonderful song used in Reflections of Earth (Illuminations), on the Epcot Music CD. There's a point in the song after the beginning where the main theme comes in, and the tempo kicks up, and it brings me memories of my last trip with my family and nephew (who I don't see often enough and miss terribly) when we were watching the Little Earth ball float around the lake and fireworks of Illuminations .... and then I always get a tear in my eye.

I love that song - that theme is so wonderfully written! Well, I guess we better plan another trip so I will stop missing everyone! :)

Total Eclipse of the Heart always makes me cry.

I'm not really the crying type, but any time I hear the Star Spangled Banner I tear up a little. Always have, probably always will.

Ususally, if it is patriotic, in a sense, then I "tear up" some (but never cry-always keep a stiff, upper lip!)

For example, I'll tear up when it comes to songs about Texas, Baylor, UT, and even TAMU-the song does not neccessarily have to be about something that I feel any alleigance to.

Also, I can't sing some hymns about Christ without losing my composure-which is embarrassing. I try not to get too emotional.

When I sing I try to focus on the lyrics and what they mean to me, and that is where the emotion comes from.

Title -" I know your shinning down on me from heaven" from Boy's To Men and Mariah Carey. It always makes me think of my parents. :( And I do cry sometimes when I hear it. :o

2 songs by Pearl Jam~ their rendition of LAst Kiss (no idea why) and Corduroy(when DH bought a guitar a few years back and started learning how to play, I used to tease him about sounding awful, he asked me what he should paly, and instantly I said Corduroy, never expecting him to do it. It took a few years but he did, and was so worth the wait. What a nice surprise)

Rainin' by sponge, and a couple of songs by the GooGoo Dolls (also no idea why)

Yeah Tony-NJ, I know exactly which song you mean. Another one is "In the Arms of the Angles" by Sarah M??? The Star Spangled Banner can do it to me at times too.

Unbelievable that's what you are, by Natalie King cole and her late dad. My son used to sing that to me when he was 5, he is almost 21, WOW time flys so fast. :D

Eric Claptons "Tears In Heaven". This was on the radio when I heard about the death of my friends baby. And "In the Arms Of Angels" which makes me think about my 14yo niece that died last year. I'm getting teary just typing this.

Me too....Tears in Heaven and In the arms of the angels. They played in the arms of the angels for my SIL's funeral last year.
My daughter and I were the only ones crying. I tried to console my daughter by telling her Arnetta would not want us to cry.
Then....the cd started skipping. My DD and I started to laugh uncontrollably. It was terrible. We tried to contain ourselves, but could not. Then my DD said, "She does not want us to cry mom, that is why the cd is skipping". I had to agree.

Sorry need to get some kleenex.

Amazing Grace, Angels Among Us by Alabama, God Bless The USA by Lee Greenwood.

Ave Maria, Amazing Grace, Here I am Lord......all from my Dad's funeral. Can't hear any of them without thinking back to that day (sigh)

Somewhere Over the Rainbow by the Hawian Guy IZ... and The Promise by Tracy Chapman... my reasons are embarassing so I won't explain

There are many songs that make me cry.:o

Angelita by Richard Marx (I think) makes me cry. I lost my friend Angela and my aunt Leta within 2 months of each other. That song was played too often after they died.:( It was like rubbing salt in an open wound.:(

Tears in Heaven makes me cry because of the reason that song was written.:(

About any song by Dan Fogelberg can make me cry.

There are many more though.:o
