Well...... we definitely need here in Pa. - but......... I sat out in the POURING rain last night with the temps in the 40ºs for the HS football game. Even with a winter coat, umbrellla, etc. I got soaked!! It was one of those slanting rains. I felt horrible for the football players - the field was a total mudbog! The band had their instruments get soaked and the dance line was pretty darn cold in their costumes!!
I am now sitting here wheezing as my asthma has kicked in.....
In the spring or the summer - I love a gentle rain. Sometimes I will just go out and walk in it and squish in the mud puddles.
Pam
There's nothing more relaxing than laying in bed at night and listening to the rain patter on the roof and God knows we sure need the rain around where I live as it was the driest ever!
I like it too... unless I have a field full of 9 year old girls in nylon shorts and jersey's freezing to death during a soccer game! Some of them were in tears!

Poor things, we've spent many a rainy day out on the field too. There is nothing fun about sitting in the freezing rain watching your kids freeze their butts off, knowing full well they're going to have a cold tomorrow.
Rain is one of my most favorite things. I love a good storm when I'm falling asleep at night, I love it when I'm working and I can sit at my desk and watch it through my window, I love it when it's a lazy day and I just hang out at home and enjoy it while I do nothing.
It does annoy me a little when I have outdoor plans and it rains but I usually just go with the flow and enjoy myself anyway.
Rain at night is very romantic. Rain any other time of day depresses me. Makes me want to go outside and sit in the rain and have a good cry. Don't know why, it just does. I couldn't live in rainy places like Seattle and London for very long.
Shannon,
Ever see that new Ikea commercial? The one where the girl gets a new lamp and puts the old one out on the street in the pouring rain? Son of a gun, if I honestly don't get teary-eyed over the poor little bugger's fate of being stuck in the rain and looking up in the apartment and seeing the new lamp get a caress from the girl.
I used to love it, until we moved to Texas. Now it rarely knows how to rain without causing flooding in areas within 15 minutes, I hate not being able to see (sometimes more than 3 feet!!) because of the rain, I hate the flooding, I hate the loss of traction... I generally hate everything about rain down here.
Put me back in the mountains where rain generally means a nice, cool, calm, steady drizzle, and I can love it. But not here.
I also especially hate it when it's going on a solid week of rain, and when I don't think we've had 7 days of no rain in the past two months. Maybe we have, but it sure doesn't feel like it.
