What size was your child in at 3.5?

Well DD is tiny, very tiny. I just weighed her 25 lbs. She is about 35 inches tall too.

She can still fit in 18 months clothes, but I am not buying anymore. 24 months or 2t for her for now on. The funny thing is she fit in a lot of size 2t dresses and shorts last summer, and will again this summer. We had to go back in sizes for the winter (my older DD did at that age too.) We can even do 3t in dresses and shirts (they can be big no problem.)

She is 3.5 now. Will be 4 in Aug.

When my oldest was 3.5 he was in 4's I believe and maybe 5's in shirts. Large shoulders from father's side. My Max is 3.5 now and he is a wee one. 2t pants still fit and 2t shirts also. It'll be a while till that kid graduates to a booster seat.

if you are having a hard time with 3T's drooping, try regular 3's. 3t's are made larger in the butt and waist area for diapers.

My DS will be 3.5 in April and he is about 41" and around 33-35 lbs. I swear he hasn't gained any weight for 2 years!! He is one straight line...not a curve on his body and you can see almost every bone. We're having some food issues (control issues :rolleyes1 ) lately with him not wanting to eat what has been prepared. He wears mostly 3T clothes although pants are getting a bit short for him. But I can't go up to 4T for length because even the 3T's are falling off his behind! I can't wait for summer and shorts where it won't look like he's ready for the floods! :)

I could have written this thread word for word except DS is barely 3.

My poor kids. Neither one is FAT but they are both big for their ages. My DS eats NOTHING and my DD will eat whatever you put on her plate..UM I mean whatever daddy has on his plate. He never gets to enjoy a meal. My DD is 4. She has a long torso and I just bought her some size 8 tops because the 7's were too short. I am also buying her some size 7(6 depending on the style) skirts/shorts for the summer because most of the 6's are too short in the butt (she bends and her poor butt comes out) BUT she has small legs and needs a 5 for the length:scared1:
We did a ton of Leggings and dresses from Hanna Andersson this year to get through the winter..
I love summer because I can go up a size in the shorts and if they are too long then that's OK. She is in a size 11 shoe. Last year she was in a 6 top and bottom. I also cannot get her 1 piece bathing suits because the 8's are too small in the torso Length wise and too big on the top. So she wears a size 7 PC bathing suit.
My DS is 6 and he is in a size 1 shoe and size 7 tops and bottoms. If I buy gap or Children's place then he is in a 8

I had to go back and look this up. My dd7 was in a size 6X at 3 years. She is very tall and skinny. It is tough finding clothes for her. Always off the charts for height and weight. She is 7 now in a size 10 jean. :scared1:

My ds5 wore 24 months or 2T but some of the 2T fell off of him. He's the complete opposite has always been under 10% for weight and under 15% for height.

I swear I feed them the same food!!! :lmao: Now he just turned 5 and he is catching up and is in a 4T

ds is 2 (he'll be 3 in late june), and is 40" size 9.5 shoes 35 pounds, wearing a size 5t shirt (or a boys 4) and 2t shorts.

My dd will be 4 in May. She is currently 39.5 inches and 29 lbs. She wears a 4t in dresses because she's tall but a 3t in everything else.

My dd (6 now) at 3-1/2 wore a 18 mo-2T. She is 43" & 34 lbs. Right now she is wearing size 4 slim pants (or adjustable waist). She still has a couple pairs of size 3 pants she can wear. She is longer in the torso though and needs a 4 or 5 in shirts. She is just really small! She never even realized it until this year when in kindergarten some other kinder boy told her that she was too small to be in kindergarten.

My DD is tall too! Now that is 4.5 she is around 48in tall, but when she was 3.5 she was around 44 and in a size 4 or 4t she was very skinny, and so nothing seemed to fit right either everything was too short or too big in the waist..but she seems to be okay now that she is heading into the 6x range. However I worry about finding shoes when she is older she already is in size 13!

I have definately have sympathy for big feet, my DD3.5 already is in 12s, she can still wear 11s but I'm not buying anymore. My DD13's sizes at that age were almost identical to hers, I remember the struggle I went through with finding size 5 and 6 slims, and I'm now doing it all over again (it's now a lot easier, thanks to the internet). The only difference was that she was alerady in 13s by 3.5, she stayed in that size for a while (thank god), but by 5 she was in 1.5s! By 7 she was only in 3s, but she had a growth spurt and jumped up to a 5 by 7.5! It's so hard to find 5s, never mind 6s, for girls, so by 8 she was in the women's department (around a size 7) where there is nothing appropriate for a third grader whatsoever. Luckily her feet slowed down, she stayed in an 8/8.5 from 9.5 to 11.5. Though her height kept moving along (she's 5'8" now and is showing no signs of stopping, they predicted 5'11" for both of my girls and 6'2" for my son at 2), I was hoping her feet were done at a 9 last year. I think she'll get to a 10 like me (she's almost there), but I'm only 5'6" (the height comes from my side of the family as my DH is only 5'11" and I have two brothers at 6'5", I just dieted to much at 14, otherwise I think I could've gotten taller, I kept growing pretty late), so I'm really fearing that she'll get to 11s!

DS just turned three last month but he's pretty big. 40 inches and 39 pounds - 97th percentile for both. It's very hard to find the right fit in clothes for him - he currently is in 3T/4T clothing. He has a long torso so the 4Ts are shirts and the 3Ts are pants/shorts. But of course, the sizing is all relative to the store.

And he has a 10.5 wide foot. I've always had small feet (size 6) so I'm guessing that's from DH's family. ;)

My daughter just turned 4yo last month and she's in a 4T. Last summer she wore a 3T but once the cooler weather started, I noticed all her pants and sleeves were too short (she turned 3.5yo on 8/26/07) so we moved up to 4Ts. They were too long, but better long than short IMO.

And as far as her size, she's now 41 inches and 33 lbs.

Happy birthday to Madison. :cool1: I was starting to feel that DD was really super duper small, and I knew when you posted I would not be so alone. Still it sounds like Madison has grown a lot.

Funny thing is my older DD Anna was always tiny too. She will be 7 next week and is rather average in hight (there are a number of her friends that are much shorter then her.) She is still very thin, but not to thin. She wears a 5 in pants, but has started to out grow them and is mostly in size 6x now.

Thanks! I actually got her weight wrong, she's really 33 lbs, not 36. I wish though, as it would at least keep her pants up a bit higher! She has grown quite a bit this year though. Seems like she just sprouted up between August and October, which was weird to me because she never grew so much at once that it was noticable like this.

Lily has grown a few inches recently (yeah she can ride Goofy's barn stormer in May when we go.) She hasn't gained weight for while.

We really noticed Anna starting to spout up when she started eating well and finishing all her meals. :thumbsup2

My 3.5 year old is 37 pounds and 40 inches.. She is wearing a 4t or 4 reg.. she still fits info 3ts but if pants the are short. Shoe size 10 but she has one wide foot. She had 11 toes.

My 2.5 year old is 39 pounds and 38 inches. She is in a 4t also and size 9 shoes.

I wish they were boy/boy or girl/girl so they could of shared clothes lol

My older boys have always been in the 25th percentile, but my youngest is in the 90th! And my youngest is adopted from China! Go figure!

Anyway, my youngest turned 4 this month and wears size 5 pants and size 6 shirts. He was 42 inches and 45 pounds last time we weighed and measured.

Dawn

@ 3.5 DS weighed ~38 lbs and was ~40.5 inches tall. We completely skipped size 3T and went straight to 4T in pants.

He turns 4 in two months and now weighs 40 lbs and is 41.5 inches.

My daughter will be 3 in April and she weighs 25 lbs and is 37 inches tall. she wears 18 month pants and occasionally 24 month or 2t is they have adj waist (that is the BEST invention!!). She has to wear a 3t b/c of height.

My twins were incredibly small (they were 11 weeks premature and weighed 1.15lbs and 2.8lbs). At 3 they were about 23 & 25 lbs. Now at 7.5 yrs old, one is average at about 54 lbs and 51 inches (I think) and the other is smaller, weighing about 47 lbs and about 50 inches. My 1 yr old son is 21 lbs and 31 inches so lean and tall.

My husband is very lean - 149 lbs and 5'11. I was skinny as a kid and very lean and athletic - until I had these lovely 4 kids LOL I am 5'8 and about 140 now but used to be about 128. I guess genetics plays a big part in ours.

My DS was wearing a 5 at 3.5 (43 inches tall and 41 lbs.) he has always been tall. He is turning 5 now and is in a 6 almost a 7. He is now 48 in and 50 lbs. I think that those growth charts run small.
