I got lucky and found a cute Olaf one that says "I Love Warm Hugs" on clearance at Bed Bath and Beyond. Found a a big tie dye one for me and want to see if I can get a Mickey head in vinyl to put on it...if it can be done? But I will for sure buy one in Casataway lol.

Before our cruise I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond and bought handles and straws. We ended up not using the handles (no sunscreen needed in Alaska) plus the handle covered the whole design. I am glad I bought straws because for some reason the cups for sale on the Wonder didn't have them. When we sailed on the Fantasy a couple of years ago, the Tervis tumblers included a straw.

Any purchases on board or at Castaway Cay will be billed against your on board account. You can however use a Disney Gift Card in the main gift shops onboard the ship itself. How you choose to fund your on board account is up to you.

You would need to request a Disney Gift Card payout from your DVA, and then either load that onto your shipboard account before hand, or take it guest services and load it onto your shipboard account. I recently read on here that the ships gift shops can use Disney Gift Cards for payment - I would assume that CC would as well, since they are connected to the ship once the ship docks.

From what I've read about DVA, you need to give them 4-6 weeks to get a physical Disney Gift Card mailed to you.

That's what I understand - perhaps you can preload into your shipboard account - but you would have to call the number directly to ask. From the FAQ -

What if I have funds left over in my Disney Vacation Account after I've paid for my Disney vacation?
If you have a remaining balance in your Disney Vacation Account after you've paid for your Disney vacation, you can start planning your next Disney vacation! Simply leave the remaining balance in your account, estimate the savings Goals for your next trip and create a new savings plan.

Or, you can use your remaining balance to purchase a Disney Gift Card (subject to limitations— get details) for use during your trip at locations where Disney Gift Cards are accepted. A Disney Gift Card can be requested in a value ranging from a $5 minimum to a $1,000 maximum every 90 days.

Or, you can request a full refund.

To purchase a Disney Gift Card with your Disney Vacation Account, please call (407) 939-7734 to make your request.
