What size planning book do you prefer?

When I first discovered planning book designs on here, I found a pdf of a basic planning guide which I printed out at 8.5 x 10. I thought it was really great with the estimated gas cost vs actual and a way to track gas, etc.

Then I discovered what I call a Mom's book which is for me to carry in the parks every day with ADRs and times, etc in a nice mobile size of 4 x 6. However it only holds the information I need while we are in the park and not the stuff before.

Now I don't know which one I want to use, do I want to use both or just try to use one and ask a disigner to make additional cards?

So my question to all of you is what size do you prefer?

I'm curious what most people use as well.

At first I was designing everything as regular 8.5 x 11 so I could fit it in a duo-tang. I figured I would swap out the park information each morning before heading to a new park.

However it turns out the duo-tang does not fit in my baggallini...

So now I'm trying to re-format everything to fit a 4x7 agenda. Unfortunately the agenda is the style that has 3 ring-holes at the top and at the bottom. I haven't found a hole-punch for that. Thought I think I can get a hole puncher with adjustable rings...

But the size (4x7) is better for carrying, and I believe I can fit everything in there.

For the actual planning before the trip (1 year to 6 months out), I like 8.5x11 as you have plenty of room for notes, changes, additions, etc.

Then I make a daily planner for when I'm actually on vacation that is the smaller 4x6 or 5x7 size, when most everything is concrete and you don't have to make changes.

Natalie (Donatalie) has some great 4x6 pages for photopass locations and some of the restaurants.

Those two threads are what inspired me to get a smaller planner, I love them. I might just have to go with two books.

Is there any way to do a mass download of your planning pages instead of one at a time?

Just in case anyone can use them...I made a few of the pages that sumlthomp had in the 4x6 book that she made for the parks. If you combine these along with Natalie's (Donatalie) restaurant and photopass pages and Kathy 's(Mickeysbestgirl) great planning pages, you will have one great 4x6 book for the parks! I left a 1/2 inch space for binding on my pages.

I also posted templates for dividers with tabs. These measure 4.5 x 6 and you can use them as a template to cut out your chipboard or thick cardstock. Then all you will need to do is cut a front and back cover rectangle 4.5 x 6 and use a fun scrapbook paper to cover. Then take it all to a copy shop to bind for you!

Dolly, I owe you big time! You are wonderful!!! I was concentrating so much earlier on how I was going to make one, I was getting a headache.

BTW, I mentioned to my husband that I needed to go to the scrapbooking section next time I go to Hobby Lobby and he looked scared.

The main thing that I did change is I didn't want the tabs hanging out as they could get bent, so I made the front and back covers the same size which is 4.5x6 so they are half an inch larger than the 4x6 cards. Now you just have to cut out chipboard and decoupage the front and back side for the front and back cover. Then use a really thick cardstock for the dividers.

Print the front and back covers as is on regular paper, then decoupage them to chipboard. Or you can purchase a disney scrapbook paper and decoupage it to chipboard. You can buy chipboard (and decoupage) at Hobby Lobby or Michaels and cut it down. Chipboard is a really thick paper/board like the front cover of a hardback book. Decoupage is a product that will help you to adhere the paper to the chipboard so that it won't peal away. It is a type of glue that you spread evenly over the chipboard and paper that dries translucent. Hope that helps!

If you end up making it...post a pic of your final result!

One other option it to purchase a binder for 4x6 index cards and decorate it with ribbon, etc. Then you won't have to mess with chipboard and decoupage.
