What silly thing do you look forward to the most when heading to the World?

I love going from shop to shop in the World Showcase with my DD and buying little chocolates from each country. I don't know why, it's just started becoming "our thing". She even scrapbooks each wrapper.

A bit silly and random - but it's our thing.

That's a great tradition! You should put that in the thread about what to do with kids in World Showcase!

I look forward to towel animals and decorating the window of our resort room upon arrival. I like to have the window all decorated so ours is fun and easy to find. That reminds me, I'll need to make Christmas-y decorations for this trip! Yippee!!

Por favor mantengase alejado de las puertas

...that's all I need to hear.

But it's also that blast of hot air when we stop the car for gas and realize we are in Florida, finally! And looking for all the Disney billboards on the final stretch. And the wake-up calls. And, yes, the buses.

And so much more!

The voice of the "official WDW narrator" - love to hear him on ME, the buses and monorails.
I've never been on a ME bus, but seeing that it's not a Disney operated bus, is it the same guy?
I LOVE the disney buses. I would rather take those than drive any day. Whether they're crowded or empty, I love them all just the same. I love trying to find the perfect seat in the back or with enough room for my family. And I think it's funny how my mom always ends up talking to the other guests and making friends.
Can you say that a little louder, actually a lot louder?
I too love the Disney Buses. To me they really signify that I am there. I so want the "bus spiel" for a ringtone on my phone. I have the Monorail spiel and use it occasionally, but to have the bus one.....I would love that. That man's voice makes me smile and not stop. Doesn't matter whether they are crowded, if I have to stand, if it is a bit late, I love them.
Can the both of you say it in unison?
The banjo music on the buses to POR.
Gonna have to disagree with you on that one. Maybe after 3000 times it looses something.
And I love when we get to the Disney World Arch coming in on ME. Makes me cry every time!
Ya, it makes me sad too, but for a different reason. Just kidding, never get tired of it.

When we get on the buses for the first time, my daughter, who has memorized the ENTIRE recorded spiel, will say in perfect unison with the recorded voice
Hmm, wonder if she was on my bus?

first off, I like the tram in the orlando airport getting to the luggage pick up.

I love checking into the hotel!

The park music gets me every time- especially the Innoventions Plaza Music and the Music on Main Street USA.

And i think my favorite thing of all has to be the smell of Pirates of the Caribbean and Splash Mountain. It just makes me feel at home.

AHH i can't wait to goo

DITTO DITTO DITTO :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
and I love love love the monorail!

I LOVE Epcot music!!!! :goodvibes

me too!!! :)

we drive down so i start getting real excited the night before when we decorate the van. the drive down is so much fun because me, dh, and dd are all so excited and the trip has actually gotten shorter since we go so much. for us, it's going thru the disney world gate and honking the horn and yelling whoo-hoo, we have arrived!!!
-walking into pop and checking in, my dh runs to the gift shop to see the latest things.
-love the dw buses
-getting settled into our hotel room and decorating the window and then getting on the bus to dtd for the evening.
-all the smells, sights of MK on our 1st park day.
-that taco salad @ pecos bill
-main st bakery snacks
-all the christmas decorations and osborne lights 2 days now!
oh! i can't wait to be there! just 1 month

Going on IASW and the smell of the water. It's the first ride I went on on my first trip when I was 10 years old and it's the first ride I head to each visit to the MK. I feel like I'm 10 again every time.

DH hates it but he knows it makes me happy.:flower3:

Oh yeah! I know that you mean! I love Small World. I just love it.

I love walking down Mainstreet in the middle of the street and acting like I am in a parade while wearing my Minnie Mouse ears barettes.... :) My friends are always horrified and I laugh so hard that I do it everytime...:rotfl2:

Oh gosh, I wish I had Mickey Barettes!

Oh gosh where to even begin?
Hearing the pilot announce at 10am it's already sunny and 75 in Orlando
seeing the people with the mickey gloves ushering us towards the ME
stepping onto Main Street, the monorail announcements, the smell of the Poly, the Founders statue, the smell of Disney water, riding the TTA, Epcot entrance music, hearing "it's the wildest ride in the wilderness" at BTMRR
i could go on for hours. :lovestruc

probably walking onto main street and seeing the castle for the first time is the biggest one!:wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard:

So many things:

-the walk from the bus stop to the entrance of the MK gates - such a happy walk because there's so much ahead
-the pre-show before the MK opens - love the excitement of this
-the music as you enter Tomorrowland
-the first turn after you've entered Space Mountain - there used to be a RCA dog sitting there and I always look there remembering him from childhood
-the music from Swiss Family Treehouse that goes on and on
-the feel of BTMR - the smells, the music, the sounds of the train, and the voice that prepares you for the ride
-hearing the howls from the Haunted Mansion
-the music as you enter EPCOT
-the guy who prepares you for Soarin' - I still laugh every time he talks about storing your things under the seat including "these little beauties"
-the lady who has a permanent smile on her face and is constantly waving at you in the tower above as your boat launches for IASW
-hearing the people scream and the car race past at TT
-that feeling as you reach the supposed end of the track on EE and it is quiet with eerie music as you anticipate the thrill of going backwards.

I think I could go on and on...

We usually visit in February, coming from a frozen Indiana. So for me, its stepping out into the gate area at MCO and seeing all the Disney bags, the warm weather, palm trees, the excitement of anticapation, and the feeling its only day 1 and that your 6th and final day seems like a month away.

Mine would have to be when I walk under the train station at Magic Kingdom and spin around like a ballerina would. I just love walking in that first morning and seeing everything empty. We always book a meal at Crystal Palace before the park opens the first day. When we go in January for my birthday, I booked three breakfast at Crystal Palace for before the park opens. :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

The voice of the "official WDW narrator" - love to hear him on ME, the buses and monorails.

The music in Epcot!

We love both of these too! I like playing the Disney Trivia game on the Wii with my wife just because the narrator is the Disney Voice guy.

And as for the EPCOT music, I can listen to srsounds.com all day long. I wish I didnt share an office with someone else at work, or I would play it all day long. :-P

- Trying to get a picture of the arch as we drive under it
- When the cars stop in the Haunted Mansion, even for a couple of seconds.
- Seeing all the new pins
- That feeling I get when I'm walking down Main Street and the castle comes into view and I can't stop laughing because of happiness overload
- Seeing all the happy little kids

When we arrive at POP, the stroll to the building we are in. I love the music, and the smell. It makes me skip along the sidewalk. :rotfl2:
Can't help it. And if "Dancin' Machine" by the Jackson's is playing....OH WATCH out!!!!! :cool1:
I loved the music on the bus on the way back to Pop. We'd sing it really loud, and we tended to get louder the later in was (and the more tired we were). Halloween night, on the bus, singing Love Shack and Thriller quite loud. BTW, it's hard to hold onto the rails and do a proper Thriller dance.

I know this is silly, but my DH and I always repeat the monorail instructions in spanish which tell you to stand clear of the doors. And when I hear it I get emotional. I also LOVE when they say "Welcome home" when you arrive at check-in, it used to be only as DVC members now they all say it!

DD would get mad at "welcome home". She'd say "We're not at home, we're at the hotel!"

I have so many. We drive so the things that I look forward to start before we even get there.:car:

*going through the Toll on the Florida Turnpike:drive:
*Going under the Walt Disney World arch :woohoo:
*checking into resort:banana:
*getting our park tickets:cool1:
*getting on the first bus to the Magic Kingdom:cloud9:
*Walking down Main Street and hearing the sounds, and enjoying the smells and seeing the Beautiful Castle.:goodvibes
*Wishes:wizard:
*just the over all feeling that we made it home to Disney again.

Getting on the bus & hearing the announcements :woohoo:

Being able to walk around and enjoy all the sites, sounds, & smells while hand in hand with my hubby :cloud9:

Riding on SM and listening to DH yell while he gets SOAKED :maleficen

My dad and I always split something from main Street bakery our first MK day. Doesn't matter that we pretty much just ate breakfast at the hotel we always get something before starting our offical day at MK.
