What should we request for dining?

I've never made a dining request before, other than a private table. But I think I'm going to for our upcoming Destiny cruise. It's just my husband and I and we are probably not going to Pride Lands. We really really don't enjoy dinner shows. When we went to Arendelle on the Wish it was awful. So noisy and chaotic. We couldn't even hear or servers. We don't enjoy the singing during our meal - it's just not our thing. I wish we could go to 1923 every night. So, I want as much 1923 as possible, and as little Pride Lands as possible. We are lukewarm about Marvel - but fine with it overall. Our sailing is 5 nights. I don't want to make it a complicated request. I was thinking of just requesting 1923 at least twice?? Other suggestions for what to request?? I can't plan Palo for any Pride Lands nights since I don't know my rotation ahead of time.

Side note - just give us a freaking buffet or quiet dining option that's already included - not Palo and not eating room service on my bed, DCL.

Thanks!

one night is pirate night so you are going to get all three once and 2 of the three twice but one is pirate night. Maybe ask to start and finish at 1923? You could do 1923 for lunch on Prideland night and just hit the Festival of food on pool deck. You can tell which night is pirate night from the BBB makeovers.

If your top priority is minimizing dinners at Pride Lands, just ask for a rotation that visits Pride Lands only once. That’s the simplest option, and it will also put you in 1923 at least twice.

If you just ask for 1923 twice, you could also end up in Pride Lands twice depending on how rotations work out.

I pick the “window” one. (Two of us). Really no windows anymore. Don’t get it exact, but the locations have been great! Last cruise, table mates bailed on their own. Never got to meet them. Table to ourselves talking with a great young family next table over, entire cruise. (We do first seating now & love it).

I thought the quick service options were closed during dinner and only the pizza window stayed open?? That's great if they're open during dinner.

Heads up based on your user name: the Haunted Mansion Parlor is closer to empty the later it gets. In the evenings (I can't remember exactly when, might be 9PM) children aren't allowed in. So for us, the later dinner seating meant we finished dinner and could go hang out in the parlor without any wait or trouble. :)

It may be different on each sailing, but we had the Grill is open later, maybe 9. I believe the bbq and tacos close at 6. Pizza closes and then reopens. Not perfect but still options.
Pub is an up charge but more reasonable then Palo. Room service can be carried up to the pool deck.

I think requesting 1923 twice in 5 nights (or Pride Lands once) makes the most sense. You can also ask to find out what nights 1923 would be so you can plan Palo (if it's still available) for dinner one of the 3 nights with Marvel or Pride Lands.

This.

As for the suggestion someone said to request 1923 first night and last night, unless that is a rotation on the ship that isn't happening. You can't build your own rotation.

No pirate menu on 5 night Destiney

We just did Destiny 5 night.

Our rotation was 1923, marvel, pride lands, 1923 ,marvel.

No pirate menu on 5 night destiny. Night 3 was pirate night and we were in pride lands with the pride lands day 1 menu.

so I would ask for that rotation and book palo on pride land night .

You can request to be away from the entertainment. When we were on the Treasure, we had a table at the far back end, next to the bar and my wife had issues hearing the show. If you get that back corner, it isn't nearly as crowded. Ironically because we were seated there, on the Destiny, we requested to be close to entertainment as my wife will want to see anything that resembles a show.

If you call in, they will tell you the dining rotation, then you can specifically ask to be put on the rotation that has Worlds of Marvel twice and 1923 twice. They will say it is only a request, but you can usually get it.

What were your 4th and 5th menus?

Usually, a 5 night gets each dining room night 1, pirate, and then Let the Magic Begin. Curious which your other two were considering Pirate wasn't in there.

I wasn't on that cruise, but I have been reading lots of reports. On a 5 night sailing, there is no pirate menu. Night 1-3 are the main dining rooms with shows. On Night 4 and 5, you get the second menu at each restaurant without shows. Marvel and 1923 are the same menus as Night 2 menus on the Treasure. Then Pridelands has a second menu 2. So only 2/3 of guests will eat Marvel Night 2 menu, only 2/3 of guests will eat 1923 Night 2 menu. Only 2/3 of guests will eat Pridelands Night 2 menu. You can find all the menus if you google... I never know what websites I can list here.

It may be time to try another cruise line! Disney is great for kids, but other cruise lines are better for adults.

Yes that is correct. No let the magic begin or pirate menu on 5 night.

It’s def a big change from the norm since all cruises won’t end up with the same 5 menus .

That is a big change! Especially because Pridelands night 2 will only be available on the Destiny, I can see that becoming a popular dining request for those in the know. Weird that Disney spent so many years trying to be "fair" about all cruisers rotating through the same menus over the course of a sailing and then just tossed that out the window.
