What should we pack to wear in late September?

We are from Alabama and use to bad humidity even in September. What is weather like in Anaheim in September?

Last year when I was there the last week of September it was a bit cool. Long sleeves at night. It was 75ish during the day. Not sure if that's the norm though

We went in early October 4 years ago and it was in the mid-90s most days which was unusual but was cool in the evenings. We are going early September this year and according to forecasts, we are anticipating mid to upper-80's and in the daytime and dipping to the 60's in the evenings.

I would plan on wearing layers. It could be chilly in the mornings and evenings, but warm during the day. Then again, it could be very warm as California often gets heat waves well into October. It's best to keep an eye on the forecast just before you leave.

I AM ALSO FROM ALABAMA AND LITERALLY JUST CAME HERE TO ASK THAT!! We went last month, my first time going in summer and it was 95 most days. MISERABLE

What part of Alabama?

We’ll be there in mid- September, and I’m just hoping it’s not super hot. Apparently it can get meltingly hot in September. However, we went 3 years ago at the same time of year, and it was lovely. Maybe mid- 80’s midday, at the warmest. Also, little to no humidity, especially compared to WDW in Florida!

Definitely pack layers. We were there four years ago mid-September and we hit the mid 90's. Last year we were there at the end of September and it was much better. We still got hot but we are also from the Washington coast so we're used to cooler temps. Neither time did I wear long pants at all, I did bring a light sweatshirt and used it a few times.

It’a really hard to predict. September and October are often our hottest months in California. Layers are your best bet. Even if it’s hot during the day, the nights are usually cool enough that I need jeans and a light sweater/sweatshirt.

late October 2017 was incredibly hot!!! Bonus, the crowds were low the days we were there! There were also fires :(

Just got back last night. Most days were in the 80’s. Early morning and evenings were cool. We go back to hotel for mid day break, returning to parks for the evening I’d wear a tee with short sleeves, vs sleeveless shirt for day time. Only one night I felt like I wanted a light sweater.
We were there in mid Sept 2 yrs ago and same thing, although I think some afternoons were hotter.

Agree with the suggestions for layers. And bring a light jacket or hoodie if you will be doing any nighttime entertainment. It can get surprisingly chilly while waiting by the water for F! or WOC. And it never hurts to have something soft to sit on while waiting.

September and October can be hotter than July and August. Howrver, last fall/winter was cooler than we typically have. You truly never know here. Could be in the 60s, could be in the 90s. Check the forecast about a week before you come to get a better idea.
This is my advice. It's too far out to determine what you should pack/wear, so wait about a week until and check the forecast. I lived in the area (though I don't any longer) and have been back down to Anaheim several times in September and I remember it always being very warm, like 80s+ during the day, sometimes into the 90s. I don't think it's late enough in the year for it to get down to the 50s, so just plan for it being around the mid to low 60s for lows. It also depends on what you're used to.

When I went last November, it was 80s during the day and 50s at night. For me, having been living in the PNW for 20 years, I am quite used to cooler temperatures. During the day, I had on a t-shirt and my jeans or shorts, and at night it was the same thing, except you could tell who were the locals. People were bundled up in long-sleeved shirts, hoodies, beanies, scarves, and boots. Boots! It was like 55F. I had a good laugh, but again it all depends on what you're used to.

Raised in LA but living in Utah the last 20 years has acclimated me to the cold (even though we hit upper 90s-100 all the time here). I just wear shorts year round now for the most part unless I'm shoveling snow. 50's is t-shirt/shorts weather for me here.

For my September trip I'm definitely wearing as little as possible!! I expect it to be hot, especially if we get some Santa Ana winds the week we are there, and will be pleasantly surprised if highs are in the 80s.

We've done Sept a few times. It never really gets "cold".
We just wear shorts and T-shirts and bring along a hoodie for evenings.

OMG...you have no way of knowing. We get the Indian summers here in So Cal and it can be roasting. Or it can be fall weather. Do bring some layers, but seriously, look at the weather forecasts before you pack. They are pretty good about predicting major heat waves, like our Santa Ana wind conditions that can happen in September.
In any case, good month for a trip to DL. Have fun!

It can easily be shorts and Tee shirt in the day then pants and sweatshirt in the evenings.

...or hot all day and night.

...or cold all day and night.

Welcome to California.

Typically in September I am shorts then just add a light jacket for the evenings.

We went in September and the SA winds were brutal. I had to keep my hair up or stuffed under a hat because if I didn't then I'd turn into Cousin It and I could hardly see where I was going. Also, hopefully no fires occur down there. The winds could easily pick up the smoke and bring it over the parks. We were lucky we missed that and it was more west and so the winds were pushing it over the ocean, but I've seen Anaheim blanketed in wildfire smoke and it just makes things miserable, on top of it being hot and dry.

September and October are usually hot. But you can bring a light jacket if your at all concerned but its usually shorts and t shirt weather until November when it gets cool at night but still quite warm in the day.
