This is installment #2 of my thread series "What Should We Order at ____?" in advance of our upcoming 12-day celebration.

We are a family of 4, 2 40-something adults and 2 teenagers, all pretty adventurous when it comes to dining. We usually try to order all different things to share, so we can each taste a variety of offerings. Being very appreciative of expert advice here on The DIS, we would love to hear about your favorites at our dining venues. We will take your advice very seriously, will print out these threads and carry them with us as we travel the World. PLEASE chime in with your opinions and experiences, the more, the merrier! Oh, and feel free to suggest any items you think we should avoid, too! Of course, in return, we promise to do a full report, with pics, upon our return!

A little about this day: It is our first full day for this trip (arrived the previous day, no park). We will be spending the full day at Epcot, rope drop through IllumiNations, which is a little unusual for us; we ordinarily take a break in the middle of the day to escpae the midsummer heat. This lunch will essentially serve as our break, so we plan to linger a bit, if they will let us. Dinner will be at San Angel Inn.

I should mention, we will not be on the DDP (we prefer more flexibility), but do plan to purchase a TIW card at guest relations upon arrival. Thanks for your input!

Order to your family's tastes, and you will do just fine.

If you got the braised short ribs and the macaroni and cheese you would have an excellent (pasta-filled) foundation. Both are quite nice.

The Mac & Cheese is very similar to my Mother's homemade Mac & Cheese! So yummy! But beware, it's not the typical orange Kraft/Velveeta boxed Mac & Cheese. I loved Chefs for dinner years ago but now they have very limited menu choices so I really much prefer them for lunch. The fatbreads are good, my favorite is ther mushroom one, so tasty, and the charcuterie platter is truly French and delish. The Croque Monsieur (it's more than a ham sandwich) w/ the salad is really nice too. We get a few things and share. Sorry, I like food porn, but I still can't take pictures of my food!

We love lunch for chefs. I've been there for dinner and prefer lunch. A must is the french onion soup. Absolutely to die for. Im drooling just thinking about it. I enjoy the ham and cheese sandwich. Very good. The profiteroles for dessert are great to. Just don't leave without trying the soup!!!
