We will probably not be having any/many sit down meals at the parks, however, I'd love to get the kids some special treats.

So what are some must haves, where are they, and about how much do they cost? I will need to put this in the budget. We will have three (hopefully four if we can adopt by then!:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes ) hungry kids who love them some yummy treats! And Mom and Dad wouldn't mind getting in on the action either! :rotfl:

If your looking for treats there is a candy store on Main Street in the
Magic Kingdom and one in downtown Disney. There is also many
places in the parks and one along the boardwalk to get great
ice cream treats. If you got kids Character meals are great and a
lot of fun.The prices are different depending on which meal you
pick. You would have to make reservations to do these and they
can tell you prices. We usually just use the dinning plans then we
just plan what we want and use are points.

We always have to have the Chocolate Covered Ice Cream Mickey Ears. We get them from ice cream carts around the parks. I'm not sure how much they cost.

Check out Goofy's candy in DTD...it's a great experience and it has many different items to choose from...good luck and Happy Eating:)

A pineapple dole whip in Advertureland or an ice cream float in Fantsyland (the booth is by the Winnie the Pooh ride). No trip to MK is complete without a Casey's Hot Dog!

Ice Cream Mickey Ears are the best! :cloud9:

In May they were 2 dollars or 2.50 per treat. However, they are similar to dove ice cream bars which are of comparable cost. Yummmmyyyyyy!

Might I also suggest that meal plans are the way to go for all things edible. It seems a lot at first...but when you break it down meal by meal in a budget...it is actually a lot cheaper with the plan.

Have you had a chance to go on the Restaurants board, here on the DIS? You'll find tons of info about people's favorites. I love to troll people's posts and get new suggestions about what to eat.

And you can look at menus and pricing on the DIS (or allearsnet.com) in their dining sections.

On our trips we never miss a cheeseburger at Pecos Bills in MK. It over near the bridge going to Splash Mountain. Not sure what (or if they do anything different to them) they do different but they are the best in the park.

You should look into taking the kids to Beaches and Cream at the boardwalk.
I took my DD's this year after reading about it on the Dis and I am so glad I made the journey!

Dont even look at the menu and just order the "Kitchen Sink" for all of you to share, when I describe it like a huge sink filled with lots of flavours of ice cream and lots and lots of sweety's, cakes and goodies, I am still not doing it justice!!!

It does cost around $30 but when you share it, it isnt too unreasonable. Well worth a special Holiday treat!!!!

If your looking for something that's not sweet, the giant soft pretzel ($3.79) at Sommerfest (in Germany at Epcot) is really good.

I'm also a big fan of the Disney popcorn - comes in a souvenir bucket for around $3.50.

The treat my DDs love the most is the chocolate covered mickey ear ice cream bar. It's a must have for them every time we go.

For a yummy treat, my oldest son always get the Mickey Mouse rice krispy ears at the Confectionary! It's his favorite thing!

Mickey Ice Cream bars! $2.50 -- don't forget to bring wipes :lmao:

I had a pineapple dole whip while DH took the girls into the Swiss Family Robinson Tree House...It was a little chilly (12/12/08) and I got a few stares eating ice cream at 10:30 am!!!

Hi! We were at Disney in Nov for our kids first trip. It was a wonderful trip. Better than my expectations (and my expectations were high!). I discovered Goofy's candy company at DD and LOVED it. Lots of goodies - cookies and chocolate covered pretzels were OUT OF THIS WORLD! Also, I echo the Mickey ice cream bars and rice krispie treats. My kids are 6 and love pictures so I bought each of them a 4x6 photo album and made them each their own albums complete with pics, park tickets, stickers, monorail drivers license, etc, etc. They love it so much that they take it to bed at night. I also brought home tons of little goodies (some as gifts), pens, pencils, charms for dd Disney charm bracelet, Mickey rice krispie treats, Mickey shortbread cookies, postcards that I mailed to them a week after we returned and then a week later, I mailed them each a few goodies, Mickey shortbread cookies, Christmas present chocloates, a chocolate Disney advent calendar, etc. and signed the card, from Mickey, Minnie, etc. Enjoy your trip!

When we were there last, my mom insisted on a turkey leg - OMG, it was delicious! Never would've thought to get one, but even my picky kids loved it - for about $4 (?), I fed a bunch of them!

I agree with the popcorn. We always get two big buckets for our family of 6 and finish it off pretty quickly. It is really good. I am not a huge popcorn person, but it is tasty. You can refill the buckets at a discounted price too.

We always get the chocolate Mickey Ice Cream bars.

One year, we got ice cream cones from the ice cream shop on the corner of Main Street, they were huge! I have a the cutest pictures of the kids eating them when they were only 4, 2 and 2.

I love Goofy's candy company in Downtown Disney. It has a nice variety and it isn't too expensive.

We gotta have the Mickey rice krispies ears and turkey legs. About $10 for both.

The Mickey Ice Cream bars are a hit for sure with kids - $2.50 all over the place. My personal favorite is the almond sweet pretzel from Norway at Epcot - $3.50. DH likes the cheese stuffed pretzel from the Lunching Pad at MK. I also second Goofy's candy company at DTD. The prices are decent and you (kids) get the entertainment of making your own pretzels or krispie treats.
