We are going in September and are staying at the POR for 8 days, we have the dreammaker package - but we are beginning to wonder if that is the best way to go. We are going to SeaWorld one of the days and we wondered if Park Hopper Passes are a better way to go...

We do want to go to the water parks and all of the theme parks. But there will be the one day we are totally gone to Seaworld and will waste a day's worth of passes with the Dreammaker...

We still want the flexibility of hopping between parks.....has anyone else been through this and have a good solution...

Should we just pay for the Dreammaker package or should we get the park hopper passes!

Help!

We usually book seperate, and bought AP's for the first time this year. Have you checked into the 7 for 5 deal? Maybe since 2 nights and days are "free" it wouldn't hurt to miss a day and go over to Sea World.

We started out with the PHP passes and really never used the water parks that much. Liked the 4 parks and the pool at our resort enough to go either PH for less than 10 days and AP for over 10 day trips.
8 days minus 1 spent at SeaWorld is going to mean you're bustin' to get everywhere in the remaining days. May be too frenzied for just one trip.

Our first two trips we purchased the package thinking it was the best way to go. Since learning of these boards, we have purchased our tickets and room separately this year. If I were you and knew you were going to be away from WDW parks an entire day, I'd rethink the package. You'd probably be able to save money by purchasing PHP's separately and still be able to go to the water parks. You can purchase a 7 day hopper knowing you won't need an eighth day. Actually, you could possibly only purchase a 6 day hopper depending on your arrival time or your departure time, you may not be going to the parks on these days. Plus, if you make a room only reservation you have the possibility of discount codes during that time. Basically, it's a matter of personal choice.

Good luck in making your decision! Hope I didn't confuse you too much!

Some people prefer packages for the convenience. I have found that booking everything separately is better financially.

Why don't you at least research the cost of things "al-a-carte" to see if it would be a better deal?

Remember, if you got hopper passes, the unused days never expire.

Think of it this way:

-You're there 8 days --
-1 will be spent at Sea World --
-That leaves 7 days for theme parks & water parks--
-If you have a 7-day hopper w/ 4 pluses that is 11 days of entertainment.
-If you go to a water park at least 1 of the days & go to a park the other 6, you still have 1 park day & 3 water park days left.
-If you go to a water park 2 days & parks 5 days you have 2 days of parks & 2 water parks left.

My bet is that you would stay at your resort one day also to relax. 8 days in a row is a lot to spend in theme/water parks. JMO! :D

Again, my suggestion would be to research the cost of a non-package trip also.

Thanks for the advice.... I will have to look into this more, that is for sure!!
