What should we do with luggage for late flight out of Miami?

Looking for some suggestions reort of Miami. Airline just changed our flight so we don't leave until late afternoon after disembarking. We were thinking of just doing some walking/wondering/shopping to kill a few hours however that leads to a few questions: what can we do with our luggage after getting off the ship?
Anyone have experience with this? We won't have a rental car and don't want to go to the airport 8 hours early.....
Second question for anyone who has had this same scenario - do you have any recommendations as to activities that are fun and convenient before heading to the airport?

One of the things the Disney offers in Miami on the day of departure is an excursion. That excursion includes the hop-on hop-off buses. There are several routes to chose from and they start and end at Bayside Marketplace, which is kind of a tourist mall. There will several times when the airport shuttles will go to the airport from Bayside. They store your luggage in a secure area until you are ready to go to the airport. You cannot book this ahead of time, you'll need to ask about it upon boarding.
