What should we do on the 1st trip day?

My...that's a loaded question. Are you local or flying in to Orlando? If flying in, my suggestion is to settle into the hotel, relax, get something to eat, check out the resort, swim in the pool and hit DTD and make your park plans for the following day.

I totally agree. That's always my plan. Then get up early on the first full day and get to MK in plenty of time for rope drop. It has the best opening show and, since it is elevated, it is easy to see.

we get in late (8 pm) so plan to get settled in and head to the beach bar for a cocktail and hopefully catch the Illuminations fireworks sitting on the beach. Sounds like a great start to me !!:cool1:

We always have a car. Check in at the hotel. Then..

Hit Orlando Premium Outlets buy my goodies at the Disney store and then go to DTD for dinner. Usually Raglan Road and walk all along the area, soaking in the weather, til it's time to go back to the hotel to get ready for the next day.

We were staying at POR - we took the boat to Downtown Disney, had a great time shopping, then dinner at Artist Point - it was soooo good!

You guys have great restraint! :lmao:

I think your suggestion to settle in and plan for the next day is very sensible, I personally can't get to the parks fast enough! I drop my bags, "settle in" for just a few minutes, and then hop the first bus I can to the MK! Even though I'd say Epcot is my fave park, there's just something about starting your trip down Main Street staring at the castle that just seems.. right. :)

My plan is to arrive at the Orlando airport around 2pm, get to the resort, check in and be in MK by 5pm. If MK is open late that night....that's even better. I HAVE to see WISHES the first night!

Because of plane malfunctions and schedule mishaps....I don't make ADR's on the first day anymore. Usually hit a counter service in MK for dinner.

Have a Magical Trip!!!
