After 10+ trips, I'm a pretty seasoned WDW veteran but am having a hard time deciding on what to do on our last night this trip. Usually we spend the last night in the Magic Kingdom letting the kids stay up late and watching fireworks and riding rides to their hearts content. However, this trip our last night is Friday, Oct. 7 and its a MNSSHP night, so a night at the MK won't be a possibility. We also love Epcot but I am afraid of what a Friday night would look like there during F&W. Currently AK and DHS are scheduled to close at 7:30. I know this could be extended but we will have already planned to stay at those parks till closing earlier in the week and don't see their nighttime entertainment (if offered) as something we would want to repeat.

So... what would you do that night? I also thought about Disney Springs, but again it's a Friday night so I'm concerned about crowds, plus my group (DH and 2 boys) do not really consider shopping to be a fun vacation activity. So I think that leaves me with braving Epcot or visiting another resort (we'll be staying at AKL).

Thoughts appreciated!

It is difficult when your usual routine is ruined! How about visited somewhere like Fort Wilderness that is a nice place. They have a nice BBQ with the characters there or maybe just look around. Another thought is a look around the Broadwalk. Or go to Disney Springs and go to the cinema but pre book it. We sometimes do this its real nice plus they do a fork and dine!

We found ourselves in a similar experience. Normally we do MK the last night but we had just did it the night before and were kinda over it. So while as we were leaving Studios we got the idea to do all 4 parks in 1 night, having to ride at least 1 ride in each park and get a photo.

So we left studios via boat and got to Epcot, rode TT (Had a paper FP from a poor service issue we had earlier) and Mexico b/c we missed that previously. Then Cab over to AK to ride Everest—timed it during Jungle Book so the wait was low. Then bus to MK and visited Philharmagic, Buzz and did our last ride on the Carousel at midnight.

Kids loved the challenge and we have a great photo compilation to show for it.

It may be too late to secure a reservation now but what about a Wishes cruise or a Pirates & Pals cruise? Those would definitely be exciting ways to end a trip.

Also, Hoop De Doo review might be fun if you have never tried it. I also love the idea of a resort night with swimming and pizza or a trip over to Boardwalk and renting a surrey bike. My kids loved the surrey bike.

I would still do Epcot. Epcot is open until 10p with Illuminations at 10p! The Food and Wine does draw crowds, but it's still doable! a lot of those people will be focused on the World Showcase for food. This would give you plenty of time to hit the Future World attractions.

Let the kids have a say and go with what they want. 10 times, they have an idea of what there is to do in each park, if they even want a park.

Have you already planned a night in your trip to just hang at the resort and watch the animals, listen to the story tellers by the fire and just enjoy being there?

There is also mini golf not far from ice cream. Ice cream always makes my family happy!

If you can get in, and have the cash, what about the dinner luau at the Poly? I really enjoyed that. Kids seemed to love it.

My partner and I are wrapping up our trip with Illuminations. It seems like a good message to end on, in terms of taking Disney magic back with you.

Love the idea stated above about Fort Wilderness. We love this place! The campfire program with a Disney movie is free every night, weather permitting. It is just a beautiful place to roam around and explore. The campers are always friendly too. They also have bikes to rent, catch and release fishing, tennis courts, a pool...you get the idea. Very relaxing part of the World!

If the kids are used to the idea of MK on the last night and you don't want to stray too much, how about staying as late as you can and do dinner at one of the monorail resorts and watch the fireworks from there?

For an early closing park night for me, I always like to head over to Fantasia Gardens for a round of minigolf. From there, it's a quick walk across the street to get a hot fudge sundae at the Dolphin Fountain! It helps to have a vehicle for this, though...

Lots of good suggestions but I realized you missed that DHS is actually open until 9:30 that night for on site guests as it is PM EMH. Not sure if you'd want to change your schedule around (since you said you'd be there a different evening) but as an AKL guest you'd certainly be eligible to attend. Also that might help offset the Epcot crowds a little bit by drawing some onsite guests there.

I didn't find Epcot to be unmanageable on the weekend of F&W. As someone else mentioned, by that time of evening most of the "crowd" is in World Showcase, sampling and tasting. Stay in Future World, ride, watch Illuminations.

I also like the idea of having dinner at one of the MK resorts, then watching the Electric Water Pageant and Wishes- and it'd be Hallowishes, so it's a show you won't have seen on a previous night in MK!
