What should we absolutely NOT miss with our 3-year-old daughter?

We're going to WDW in June with our 3-year-old daughter, and I was wondering what we should definitely do while we're there. We're staying at POP and have DDP and park hopper passes.

Thanks!

If she is a Princess fan you should try and get a princess meal, although it may be hard to do now. There are Princess character greetings in Toontown and Ariels' Grotto. The Beauty and The Beast show at MGM is great. It's a Small World, the Pooh ride and Dumbo were faves of my daughter at that age. If you have time Bippity Boppity Boutique is l;ots of fun....they do hair, nails and makeup. The World of Disney Store at Downtown Disney has a whole Princess themed room. The Safari at Animal Kingdom is great, and there is a Pettign Zoo at Conservation Station if she likes animals. Hope this helps.

Your welcome. If you have any questions feel free to PM me. Have a great trip!

I agree with doing a princess meal and my girls love The Little Mermaid show at MGM.Also she is still at an age that she would like Playhouse Disney. My DD3 wants to go back so that she can ride the teacups-her fave.

The look on her face as she takes everything in!

You really can't go wrong. Everything is so exciting to them at that age!

I also agree with doing at least one character meal (princess or otherwise). It's a great way for the kids to get interaction with the characters without waiting in lines.

Have fun!!

DD loved the character meals at 'Ohaha (Stitch) and Crystal Palace (Pooh). 1900 park fare at the Grand Floridian was a nice alternative Princess meal and featured Cinderella, the mice, the Prince and fairy Godmother. MK was by far her favorite, but we did manage to get her to MGM for Playhouse Disney, the Little Mermaid and the Muppets, all of which she enjoyed. She also liked the Flights of Wonder and Lion King shows at AK. The Finding Nemo stuff at Epcot at the Living Seas was also a hit. We never spent more than half a day at the other parks though, because she wanted the MK again! At MK, she loved everything she tried (and was tall enough for) including Pirates and Haunted Mansion which were probably her favorites, strangely enough. The only ride she did not want to ride again was Snow White. Don't miss the parades, but have an alternative to the fireworks just in case you DD does not like them...our DD did not like the noise, even though she has been fine with other firework displays. Be sure to allow for time at the playgrounds/fountains, especially Pooh's thoughtful spot.

Well when I went with dd that same age last year she loved the following:
Teacups, Flying carpets, Small word.. actually all the rides except for Stitch at MK.
At AK.. she loved the Lion King show. Get there early to get a seat in the front row. DD was chosen to participate in the show and loved that!! She also really like the Kilimanjara Safari and Kali River Rapids. plus the irdes at the little kids section.

For MGM. We did not go on any rides with DD. We saw Beauty and the Beast, Voyage of the little mermaid and Fantasmic.. she loved all of these.

At Epcot we did not have much time so we went on Test Track and Soaring.. which were great.

We went back to MK twice since it was the best park for dd.

Also we eat at CP in MK and dd cried when the characters came around and hide under the table. She did not like any of the characters. We did mention that they would be big.. but she hated them all!!

I agree with 1900 Park Fare being a good choice, and I forgot to mention Chef Mickey's is a classic. If your dd likes water there are kiddie areas at Blizzrd Beacha nd Typhoon Lagoon which are fun.

While in MK check out the times for Storytime with Belle.

Also, a couple of years ago, we got curbside seats for the 3 pm parade on
the corner where the parade enters the circle in front of the castle. Snow White came and picked out my daughter to dance with her, which was the absolute highlight of my 3 1/2 yr old DD's young life.

My DD LOVED the character breakfast w/ JoJo. The waitresses and characters do a big parade around the restaurant and grab the kids to take part. Besides CRT, I would say that was her fave.:)

Everything in Fantasy World except Snow WHite's Scary Adventure. It absolutely freaked my then 4 year old dd! Any character meal you can get an ADR for is a good time. I've heard its easier to get into the Playhouse Disney breakfast or lunch at MGM than the others so if the one you want is filled try that one.

You might want to take her to Bibbity Bobbity Boutique at the World of Disney at Downtown Disney. You need a reservation. For about $40 they paint her nails, put her hair up like a princess with a tiny tiara, light make up and a sash. My girls loved it.

At MGM don't miss Voyage of the Little Mermaid, the Muppets 3D, Playhouse Disney and Beauty and the Beast.

Have a wonderful time - 3 is a great age for her first trip!

make sure to do ALL of FantasyLand
We took DS in 1996 when he was 4. Didnt return until 2001 when he was 9 (been every year since). At age 9 he wanted nothing to do w/FantasyLand or ToonTown. He wanted to get through it as quick as he could just in case mom made him stop somewhere - like Small World! Well sometimes we do Philharmagic.

Please don't forget Storytime with Belle.
That was an all-time favorite suprise! She was fabulous!:cutie:

So much to do! My eldest DS loved Small world so much that he went on it ten times! Teacups, Pooh bear very good but my DS was scared of Peter Pan and we didn't even try to take her on Snow White or Dumbo.
Chef mickeys is great, Crystal Palace wonderful for Pooh and co.
My niece was terrified of the characters and wouldn't go near them whereas my DS when he was a toddler wanted to pull their noses off!

It may be too late now, but the best thing we did with our 3 year old dd in December was the Perfectly Princess Tea Party. Yes, it is pricey, and yes, she is young, but it was the favorite part of the trip for dd and I both. I still look at the pictures almost every day. It was worth every penny!!

My dd's other favorite part was Epcot, because we saw SO many characters there that she was able to get autographs and pictures made with.

Whatever you can do will be magical for all of you! Before we had kids, we swore we would not take a child of ours to WDW until they were 4 or 5. But we were so wrong!! DD has already been twice and our ds went in December at 7 months. WDW is even better with children for us anyway!!;)

Have a great trip!!

Thanks so much for asking this question. We are going for the first time with our DD3 and our DS<1. This trip will be getting our feet wet as we just purchased at SSR. So, all the info about the kids and what not to miss was really helpful. So excited, we can't stand it!!:cheer2:
