What should I wear to Spoodles and Jiko?

I'm trying some new restaurants this October, and I'm not really sure what people normally wear to Spoodles and Jiko. I'm thinking I can get away with park clothes at Spoodles (we will be at DHS that day and have an early ADR, 5:35, so no time to go back to POP to change). But I'm really not sure about Jiko -- it seems like some of the people who have posted reviews about it went there for a special occasion, and one person posted a pic wearing a dress. I don't want to stick out like a sore thumb.

Any opinions on what I should wear? For Spoodles, I will be with four other people, one other woman and three men, but for Jiko I will be alone (so if I had to, I could probably throw some slacks and a blouse in a small bag and carry it with me to EPCOT, where I plan to be that day).

It is just my personal opinion, but I think being semi-dressed up for Jiko's is good. Go back to your room after touring the parks, get cleaned up, and get dressed nicely, ie: no tank or tube tops, no ripped pants, no t-shirts. Just try to look nice. Others in the eatery will be grateful.......:thumbsup2

Spoodles you will be fine with park clothes but Jiko is a lil more dresser. Like you said slacks & a blouse is fine. Have a nice trip.:thumbsup2

I cant speak to Jiko but we always go to spoodles straight form the parks and never feel out of place or underdressed. We usually have decent clothes in the park though, my standard wardrobe is usually that of Charlie from Two and a Half Men. (Kakis and a three button shirt) But I have seen people come hwere with everything on and did not think anyone lookd out of place.

Thanks everyone! Seems like my initial thoughts were confirmed, so I'll be sure to be somewhat dressed up at Jiko. :goodvibes

OK--but don't be at all suprised when you see folks there who aren't dressed up.

Uncleromulus is right. Plenty of people will be in park wear at Jiko. The only real rules are no swimsuits, no tank tops on men, and no torn jeans, although I hear even the torn jeans rule isn't enforced.

That's about the size of it.
I'm not even attempting to suggest to LuvTigger how to dress. All I'm suggesting is that IF she dresses up ONLY because she dosen't want to feel out of place, she may likely discover that she really didn't need to do that after all---.

When we went to Jiko I wore jeans, high heeled sandals, and a sleeveless baby doll style shirt. I didn't feel out of place at all...

I normally like to get dressed up. Unless I'm in a park, I'm usually in a skirt or dress for dinner. It's really up to you and what you feel comfortable in. You're on vacation so wear what you want. I just enjoy dressing nicely for dinner.

Hmm, I'm glad I checked back. Thank you to everyone for the additional input.

What I would prefer to do is to go straight from the park in my park clothes without changing (I don't really want to go back to my resort since it will be a transportation challenge getting from POP to AKL, plus it will eat extra time), so I don't really WANT to get dressed up in this particular situation. If I were staying at AKL I would make an effort to be more dressy, but that isn't the case this trip. My park clothes typically consist of "nice" shorts and some kind of Disney-themed top. But if the norm for Jiko is semi-dressy, I don't want to seem disrespectful if I'm not dressed appropriately.

I will be going to Boma earlier in my vacation, so maybe I can try to look at how people walking into Jiko are dressed and reassess at that point.

I'm still open to other viewpoints! Thanks again to everyone for their comments and suggestions!

You will fit in just fine in your disney tee and nice shorts. Disney's dress code is not very restrictive - tees, shorts, jeans etc are all permitted. Just don't show up in your beach/pool wear.
