What area should I request at BWV 1 bedroom pool/garden view room to hopefully get a quiet room??? We have a two year old who will need semi quiet to sleep. TIA:goodvibes

We have no problem with walking far distances.

Most of the noise at BWV comes from the hallways (other guests talking (or parents yelling at the kids to stop running, LOL). The quietest rooms are those farthest from the elevators. Also, the dedicated villas are quieter than those that connect to a studio. There are quite a few dedicated 1 bedroom villas, so be sure to request one.

My suggestion would be to request something overlooking the leisure pool / Community Hall. If you can use the stairways, you'll also be close to the walking path to DHS. Some of those rooms (on the higher floors) will have a view of the Tower of Terror in the distance (and even some of the fireworks from Fantasmic).

Another quiet area would be overlooking the croquet lawn - most of the rooms in this area also overlook the canal and the Swan/Dolphin resorts. Again if you can use stairways, this area can be very convenient when you are riding a bus back to the BWV from one of the parks. If the bus stops at the Swan first, you can get off there, walk through the resort and over the bridge. You will be just steps from a stairway to your room.

Enjoy the stay - I love the BWV location.

So I could ask for a dedicated 1 bedroom and what you said below or would that be asking too much?????

For the quitest area just ask for a room overlooking the quiet pool or community hall (those are really the same requests) and upper floor. Note, however, that doing so will you give you the long walk to the lobby. Also, you really should not have an issue regardless of where your room is for pool/garden view when the balcony doors are closed. As CarolMN noted, your biggest risk of noise is someone in the hallway being very loud.

Offhand, do you (or does anybody else) know if there are dedicated 1 bedrooms in the Standard View category? I love the idea of not having a door between me and a studio, since the few times we split our Marriott timeshare it seems the only noise we heard came from the other side of the lockoff! Didn't realize BWV had that option!

Yes, there are several dedicated 1 bedroom villas in the standard view category. We've been fortunate to get one of them for almost every stay so far.

In my experience (and that of several others) BWV is NOT GOOD at meeting requests. Ask, it never hurts to ask, but I wouldn't set expectations at getting it. We've had a request met once in six or seven BWV trips....and that was a request to have two rooms close together where the note on both reservations said "cancer recovery trip."

I don't think the front desk necessarily has a good idea of which rooms fit which request criteria if they are assigning at the time - our two "close to each other" rooms were right next door, but because they were two bedrooms with studios attached, the front desk clerk couldn't tell that and warned us that "they'll be close, but I don't know if they are next to each other." At VWL we had a CM who couldn't (or wouldn't) tell us if our room faced the lake (it did) or the parking lot. And sometimes the rooms are pre-assigned.

Well its good to know that they exist! Even if I don't get it, it would still be good to have a request on there, so at least I can say I asked. I originally wanted the shortest walk to the parks (which would have been close to lobby I guess?) and the CM who made the reservation told the member making it for me that none of the standard rooms are (which I don't understand given the maps I've seen), so at least this will be a request MS will be willing to place on the reservation. :confused3

Thanks! Love the tidbits I get from reading these boards!
