What Should I Order at Raglan Road?

We have a reservation at RR on Thanksgiving Day. I was looking at the menu, & I'm a little lost on what to order. (I realize menus change, which is no big deal to us.) Anyway, I personally don't like comfort foods or fried foods, which seems to be the bulk of the menu. I plan to order salmon at HBD the next day (I had it last week & it's wonderful), so I probably won't want to eat that. If nothing else, I'll pick at my food & fill up on the bread pudding. ;) Any suggestions on what I may like? TIA :flower3:

If you like seafood....order the It's Not Bleedin Chowder. LOVE IT!!! So good, full of seafood. I have had it twice and would order it again in a heartbeat.

The steak was really good...nice crispy onion strings piled on top, and I think there was a basil oil drizzled on the mashed potatoes...nice touch. Oh...and the bread pudding :lovestruc  :cloud9: :faint: Soooooooooooo yummy....

You might check with the restaurant directly -- it's possible they might have a special menu for Thanksgiving Day. But I'd rather have that bread pudding than any other dessert, even chocolate, and I am a total chocolate fiend.

Thanks for the suggestions. :) I do like seafood, so I may get that. Is it a heavy meal, or kind of light? If it's cold, I'll be all for a heavy meal, but usually prefer something light. I'm sure my DH &/or DS would love the steak. I'll pass along that suggestion.

Also, I have a question concerning appetizers. Would they allow all 3 of us to share one of the "Starters for Sharing". As I noted earlier, we like leaving room for dessert. ;)

I love the banger appetizer. But right now I can't think of what it's called. The presentation is amazing.

The fish and chips is pretty good. The fish is fairly run-of-the-mill but the chips are the best.

They serve this amazing guiness & honey dip with their soda bread. They recently changed the recipe of the soda bread, and I don't like it as much as what they used to serve... but the dip is fantastic.

And then, of course, there's the beer. Black & Tans all around. :drinking1

We were just there last week. I had the Seared Beef Salad and it was very good. Not too heavy, which left room for the Bread Pudding which was the best dessert I had all week (and I had some good desserts).

I did the Paddy's Pork which was excellent. However it was a bit heavy. If you love chocolate, another great dessert is the Dunbrody Kiss. It wasn't too large but was very rich. I couldn't finish it after by meal, but it was incredible.

How's the roasted chicken breast? That sounds good! The Pie in the Sky sounds good to me too. Paddy's Pork looks like another entree my guys would like. They're going to have a hard time choosing. They also like fish & chips. Decisions, decisions ;)

While I've never eaten there, I'm dying to. After checking out the menu, both the haddock or sole might appeal to you. Even though you'd be eating salmon the day before, it sounds like you like seafood and these fish are quite different from salmon, but very good. However I'd pick the haddock, as it sounds more appealing, plus soles are in danger of being overfished.

Raglan Road has become one of our very favorite places. We LOVE the Daltrey
Duo appetizer, the Sheperds Pie and the beer flight. Enjoy!:goodvibes

I LOVE it to! I don't like fish, but like shell fish (I do enjoy really good smoked salmon though) & it was my favorite meal during free dining last month. I enjoyed every bit of the chowder-even the salmon! I was expecting to pick out all the salmon, but it was a very, very good smoked salmon. I thought it was really light for a "chowder". I wish I had some now. :thumbsup2

The It's Not Bleedin Chowder is one of my favs! Here is a pic:

We have also had and enjoyed:

Appetizer: ribs and Daulkey Duo
Entrees: Fish and Chips, Steak, Burgers, Kids Chicken Fingers
Desserts: Bread Pudding (the best!) and apple pie

The cocktails are great here too!
