This will be my first time there and I'm excited! We have the DDP and I'm not sure if everything on the menu is available, so any info is appreciated!

I heard there was a cheese soup that is good. I love steak too so what would you recommend?

Thanks!

I've always enjoyed their cheese soup and steaks. The rizotto that accompanies the steak is very tasty as well.

I would, however, avoid the poutine. I grew up on that dish, and I can tell you that what is served is definately not poutine. It's allright on it's own basis, but it's certainly not a poutine.

The Cheese soup was GREAT!!!! As was the Maple Creme Brulee. Oh yeah the steaks were great and DD loved the steak salad. pretzel breadsticks were also out of this world. They should sell those out front.

Enjoy the meal!!!

Thanks for the feedback! Is there a specific steak I should order or should I just go for the biggest one? :)

I think when I go this month I am going to order the cheese soup, and steak burger with the english muffin bun. It looks really good, I will let you know when I get back!

If you like Salmon, the King Salmon Two Ways is really good! The grilled Asparagus side dish is good too ($ extra)

The pretzel breadsticks are really good too, a lot of people like to dip them in the soup but I actually prefer them plain and the sourdough breadstick in the soup. They give you 3 different types of breadsticks in a little iron like cone shaped basket, the 3rd is a multigrain.

On the DDP, you have to get one of the Chef's Favorites combos to get the soup included.

Congrats on your upcoming nuptuals !!

Go with the mushroom filet- fork tender and melts in your mouth - is how my DW described hers when we had in the past.

And yes - the cheese soup is a must :thumbsup2

Aww.. thank you so much, you are actually the first person to congratulate us! My DH does plan on ordering the mushroom filet, as for me I am allergic to mushrooms.

The filet is GREAT! Had it at dinner and last time lunch (about the same size). Had the prime rib once but didn't like it as much as the filet.

I always get a cup of the cheese soup and it is enough with the filet and pretzel bread. The bowl was to much to eat at the beginning of the meal. I think you will have to pay OOP for the soup if on the DDP though.

We have had the choc. moose and the bourbon cake for dessert. The moose is very good. We thought the cake was a little heavy.

Also, I have subbed the mashed pot. and scalloped pot. instead of the rice with the filet. The scalloped ones are really good.

If you are a Prime Rib person, they have a wonderful one.

It is very tender and not heavily seasoned, so you actually taste the meat not the spices.
I had the cream cheese mashed potatoes and they were wonderful as well.

I am having the same meal in Feb.
That is my selection. ;)

That is exactly what I ordered last time and it was so yummy I will be ordering it again in two weeks. One of the best burgers I ever had.

Congratulations :bride:

The cheese soup and mushroom filet mignon are both out of this world. The soup is delectable, and the truffle butter on the filet makes it sublime.

If you're on the DDP, I recommend paying cash for a cup of soup (around $5) and getting the filet.

Great info thanks all. The mushroom filet sounds yummy although I usually aim for the biggest steak on the menu :rolleyes1 but I love mushrooms so I might have to try it. Besides, I can always pick up some tasty F&W snacks along the way if I'm still hungry. If I have to pay for the cheese soup OOP then so be it but I must try it!

And congrats aenelson!

Do you have to pay for the soup if your on the Deluxe Dining Plan?

Not sure of the answer with respect to the dining plan , but I know they serve the soup as well outside at the food and wine festival. a snack credit.

I'd also highly recommend the Inniskillin ice wine for desert if you like something sweet. Like sipping candy:cloud9:

I took your approach when we ate there, as I usually do , going for size - think I took the New York. Had a sliver of the dw's filet and man was it good. :thumbsup2..-

Hoping to catch a miracle and get a walk up for lunch maybe when we are there. Late booked trip :rolleyes1

so please tell me you have multiple bathrooms with the family you got, or a man cave somewhere.

not sure how long you're there but I'll be working my way around the festival on the 10th of Nov for my bday - might bump / stagger into you if you're there.

Does anyone know if I can order just the polenta from the Spicy Chicken and Chipotle Sausage dish - without the sausage?

I looooved the polenta but the sausage was way to spicy for me.

Will they let me get just the polenta and pay less for the dish?

If you are on the deluxe dining plan then you can get the soup included as your appetizer, also they allow you to get one of the non alcoholic smoothies as your drink.
