I have been wandering around this board for about 6 months now and have received great tips from everyone. Now that my cruise is only 4 weeks away, I am trying to decide what I definately need to bring with me on this cruise, i.e., over the door shoe hanger, and what I can do without. For example, do I really need to pack straws? Any help is greatly appreciated. P.S. Travelling with my husand and five year old son....... Thank you so much.

The fixed link at the top of the posts has a number of good links. The "everything you wanted to know about cruising in one place", or whatever it is called, is really good. There is a compilation of a number of posts on things to bring. The search engine on the boards is really great too. Have a super time on your trip.

I'm sure this is on one of the "tips" threads but with a 5 year old, definately bring shout or oxyclean wipes. They saved several items of clothing for us last year.

Don't leave home without Robert .... Mommy
 :hyper: :teeth:
sorry had to.....

don't pack too much clothes. you will only use half of what you packed. empty duffle bag to put dirty laundry in and make room for souveniers.

Remind your husband to bring a tie. They served me well laying out on the bed at home while I was at sea. :p

Umm, I don't know if you blow dry hair, but GF said the blow dryer was useless and had to go to guest services to get an extension cord for the brick sized plug that didn't fit the outlet.

Aloe Vera gel to cool sunburns. Paid a pretty penny for it when a giant bottle would have cost 80% less at home.

And always, remember to bring your enthusiasm and good humor!

Straws? Don't remeber what those would be used for... unless your drawing straws to see who goes to get coffee ;)

Extension cord if you have more than one electronic device you want to charge at a time.

Shoe holder is definitly a must!!

Film, film and more film. We looked like Japanese tourists on our 1st Disney cruise, but we have some terrific pictures to remember it by. We are doing a 7 day eastern in November and are planning on taking 24 rolls of 35mm film, 4 waterproof disposable cameras, and the camcorder holds about 600 digital shots. Plus DD will have my old camera with 3 rolls of film for her to shoot. Last year we did a 3 day Wonder cruise and used 12 rolls of film, 2 waterproof cameras and DH shot about 300 digital pics. For our entire 9 day vacation it cost me just over $200 just to have the film developed. LOL Oh well, it was worth every penny spent.

We used the suction cup hangers and the air freshner for the bathroom.

Also bring cash in small bills for shopping or get larger bills changed into small bills at guest services before going shopping at the ports. The vendors in the market areas "never" have change (or maybe never admit they have change).

not sure why straws, there is a reason they don't have them on the ship. I have an over the door hamper. The shoe thing sounds like a good idea. It's amazing what you can do without when you don't bring alot of stuff. When mydaughter was little 4-6, we packed everything you could think of for vacations. Now my son, he's lucky to get a coloring book and crayons, but he is just as happy and adapts to change well.

The shout is a good idea, we also bring Fabreeze no mater where we go, I hate musty smells!! I usually leave with a Poland spring bottlle for each of us, with the sports end spout thing. Then keep refilling it with whatever they like, so that they are getting their fluids.

A beach bag.

Goggles if you are banana boating!

Underwater cameras. My kids had a blast with these even at the pool! I got some great shots of them underwater making goofy faces.

Someone mentioned windex wipes for the verandah doors. I guess they get misty.

Clothes pins to hang wet things on the line in the bathroom or on the back of verandah chairs.

Extention cord if you have many things to plug in.

Anti-bacterial gel for constant handwashing.

Don't forget your chargers for cameras and phones etc.

Many, many ziplock bags!!!

CAMERA... FLIP FLOPS... and your APPETITE!! THE FOOD IS AMAZING!! free ice cream alllll day!! enduldge!
