What should I name my Build-A-Bear?

At 24 years old I have been sucked into this craze my a friend's 13 year-old daughter. They are just so darn cute and I have to have one!

We don't have a Build a Bear Workshop here in Huntsville (one is coming in May :cool1: ), but I'm going to try to squeeze in a trip to the Florida Mall tonight after our flight lands in Orlando and before we have to make our Grand Floridian Cafe ressie. This doesn't give me much time, so I want to have the name picked out before I go.

I'm getting the Koala bear for sure, but can't think of a good name. Another dilemma...should it be a boy or girl? I cannot imagine not being able to dress up the bear like a Disney Princess princess: however, my little friend has a girl also, so it would be neat to have a boy in the "family." There again, if I also have a girl bear, they can swap clothes!!

Would it be totally off-color to pick a gender neutral name so that it can be whatever sex I want it to be depending on the outfits I like best? :rotfl:

This is serious stuff people, so any help you can give will be much appreciated.

Here's my only thought...

Chester (it's just cute, but would have to be a boy)

Yes, I need therapy

Va-Bear or "limey"

hhhmmm...That would have to be explained to everyone, but I could use it as an opportunity to "evangelize" about the Dis. :p

Hmmm, beings that it's a koala bear how about something to honor the late great crocodile hunter?

Boys: Steve, Irwin, Crock, Hunter, Bob

Girls: Stephanie, Terri, Bindi Sue

(I like Bindi Sue!)

Good luck & have fun!

We have Sam the bear, George the Monkey and Scratch the dog. DS is funny with them. Last week he had to get them all propped up for his christmas card picture. He even put his blanket as a back drop. I didn't have the heart to tell him those aren't the cards I was mailing out to everyone, so I just ordered one for him and left it at that :teeth:

I did think of that, but didn't want to be disrepectful by naming a stuffed animal after him. Bindi is great though! What little girl wouldn't want a bear named after her, right?

I'm off to the airport, and Bindi Sue it is!

Thanks for all your help! :goodvibes

Okay I have a big family of Girl Build-a-bears so I will just give you the name's of mine.
1. Mary Bear:A bear named after my youngest sister
2. Muffy :the floppy dog my dad named her
3. Bananas: Monkey that I built for my 16th b-day
4.Belle: The White Cat with the heart on her chest
5. Aroura: the floppy Bunny
6. Broadway: My Pink poodle.
7. Tinker Belle: My Cow
8. Annze: My pink kissing Bear named after the beach house we are staying at
9. Lilo: My husky puppy.

Well, it's too late to give you suggestions (but I like your choice :thumbsup2 ). I named my 4 after the places I bought them. I have Annie the dog (bought in Anaheim), Tahoe the cat (bought in Sacramento on my way to Tahoe), London the bear (bought in London), and Mickey the reindeer (bought at Downtown Disney at Disneyland).

Girls are so much easier to buy for. They can be tomboys and wear cowboy outfits and other traditionally boy outfits but then they can be girlie and wear frilly party dresses. I think you made the right choice!

I have 12 Build A Bears, and am looking forward to my next bear making excursion when it opens here in May. This is the one I want:

I am going to name him Radar, after the charecter on M*A*S*H (my fave show!) that had the teddy bear. Here are some of my other ideas: Aloysius (after Aloysius Snuffleupagus) , Tuttle (another-very vauge-MASH refrence), and E.S.P. (Extra Special Pal). Of course, I like long names for teddy bears (one of mine is named Oliver Othello Oscar Oken Bear), so I'll probably go for:

Dr. Radar Aloysius Tuttle, E.S.P.

My DD7 has the Koala BAB and gave it a very original name ;) . Are you ready for it?

BABY KOALA :rotfl2:
