What should I get for my birthday....

....if I can't justify a Whishblade? I fancy the cuttlebug, but I'm not sure I can get that here yet (I'll have to pay duty if I get it from the US and the postage would outweigh the saving). What would you choose, and what do you use it for apart from letters?

Would you have to pay duty if it was called a "gift" ?? I wouldnt mind sending you one if you would pay me back! lol. Or if you dont like that idea, I have a 40% off of one item at my fav store that I would give you. You might atleast break even.

Thanks so much for the offer! I've got the 40% off code at Cherry on Top. Apparently customs here have been getting a bit shirty about all the expensive "gifts" friends and family send to the UK and charge for everything over $17 unless its old clothes Maybe if I got the machine here you could help out with the extra dies?

ETA: While looking for something else I've seen a Xyron thing that cuts (seems to be electric) - in the picture it looked a bit like it had a "leap pad" book you picked the shpes from. Has anyone seen/tried this?

What cutter would you all choose?

I found another site that said they would pricematch Hobbycraft, but they said they would add HC's £15 postage - as they normally have free postage I went back and said that's not price matching as I could go to my local HC and not pay postage- waiting to hear back....

You're right - that's not price matching at all

That's the only problem with his new job - if he's at work so's the car! But because I work in London most days and the kids walk to school I can't justify a second car just to go secret shopping

Perhaps we might "happen" to got to HC on Sunday

ETA: I've noticed Xyron alphabets are £19.99 as opposed to Cuttlebug £69 - choice made I think!

I'm definitely going to get the Xyron personal cutting system (now I've found it £99.99 online ). It comes with an alphabet and a set of shapes, and the extra aplhabets etc. are only £19.99 (and you can cut each letter/shape in 3 sizes) so I think that's the best option for me. I'll let you know how I get on.

ETA: Just ordered it! It says next day shipping but I don't know if Saturday counts. I wish I'd done it yesterday morning, but I was trying to work at home, things got crazy, local shop said "Haven't got it, keep ringing"....

Oh well, should be here by Tuesday. OMG I'm so excited!
