What should I expect to pay for a deluxe?

My wife, DD, and I will be making a trip to the World sometime in October of 2006. We have been twice and have stayed at both values and moderates. I have priced up a 5 night stay and the value resorts are priced at $100 per night right now. There are 3 deluxes that we would consider ranked in order of our preference:

Beach Club - $294
Poly - $304
Wilderness Lodge - $199

From everyone's experience, what do you think the best price I can expect to find for those deluxes will be? We will probably only be doing 2-3 days of parks so I think the options at the deluxes would be fun on the non park days.

Thanks a lot!

Never stayed at Beach or Poly, but WL is stunning...when I walked in the lobby I vried it was so beautiful(we usually stay at values). Pool is awesome, and I had a blast when I went!!!

Oh Yeah, and we had a pin code and paid $134.00 plus tax for WL. May 2005.

If you're flexible and have AAA, you should be able to get 10 to 15 percent off these rates. If you're very diligent about looking for codes, or willing to use packages to increase your overall discount (e.g., by saving on dining, etc.) you should be able to get closer to 20 percent off; maybe a little more for that time of year. If you're very lucky -- that is, if you can get a personalized pin code or if disney needs to publish aggressive codes to sell out the rooms at that time of year -- upwards of as much as 30 percent is possible.

Depends on whether or not there are any discounts being offered. I've paid as little as $174 a night at the Poly during peak season. An AP rate and by checking in the day before peak, got value rate for 8 days. Also stayed AKL Savanna View, Concierge during peak season for $264 a night. Those were the days of great AP Rates. Before the BRP.

This October I'm stuck in "The Black Hole" paying over $400 a night for the Poly, no discounts and an extra adult.

I guess I could have gone to a value or moderate resort but I'm only there for 5 1/2 days. To be honest I'm not a value resort person and I've done the moderates. Too big and too many people. No I'm not a snob, Both DH and I are blue collar people, who work very hard. In my younger days I would have stayed at a value. I guess my savings over the years are paying for this trip.

There are discounts and AAA rates available you just need to work a little harder to find them.

Some times you win, some times you lose, I'm losing big time this year. Not really though, DH and I were there for 8 days in December and it only cost us $200 and that was for the flight, we purchased our AP during our February trip to AKL. Stayed at a friends Condo free, less then 10 minutes from the park.

Wow, you guys have gotten some great rates! I am pretty good on keeping up with the codes on the Dis so if one were to come out, I would take advantage of it. I guess I will have to keep my fingers crossed. I will probably book a value just to have my reservation in place and then hope for a good code to come out!

Thanks so much!

I have stayed at all 3 resorts and if you are inclined to have some "off" days, I would go with Beach Club.

You are in a terrific location and the boardwalk is there with tons of places to eat and things to do...

If money is not an issue, go with BC

Wilderness Lodge is beautiful but eat lunch their one day

Poly is great because it is on the rails..

but if specifically intend to lounge around a few days, you have a great pool, great place to get ice cream (beaches & cream) and a pefect location

Well based on this years patterns and what we are seeing so far in next years AP rates you will likely get 70-75 off a deluxe per night with an AP rate. But be warned you need to purchase the AP first, either have the AP or voucher in hand and book online through the best rate program and pay a non-refundable deposit of one night.
Rates aren't out yet through that time so it may change but at least it gives you a pretty good indication of what it will be.

Also if you own AAA you will get 10% off deluxes during regular and peak season. Most of October is regular season so base it on the 10% off your rates. If you happen to travel the very first part of October and check in before 10/4 you will be in value season, pay value season rates your entire stay and get 15% off with AAA. These can be booked now for a one night deposit that is refundable. This can always be changed if a better deal comes out but at least you know you have some discount and have a room.

As for codes and such, who knows? This year there wasn't any room only codes up until just recently and we don't know if they will offer the free dining again. However the free dining did have a draw back, you had to pay rack rate for your room to get it.
