What should I eat at Coral Reef?

I'm doing the TS DDP for the first time so we're eating at some nice places and wanted some feedback on some of your favorite foods. So what's the best thing to order at Coral Reef?

I don't remember what I had, but DH REALLY enjoyed the Bailey's & JD Mousse!

I had the Mahi Mahi and DH had the NY Strip. We both enjoyed our meals very much. In fact, DH said he thought the steak was just as good, if not even better than the mushroom filet at leCellier! I as afraid the garnish might be too spicy for me (I have a sensitive tummy and can't do spicy! ) but it really was very good and thought the flavor was just right!

Hmm, thanks! I will be going to Le Cellier too so I was thinking of ordering fish at Coral Reef. Mahi Mahi sounds good

As the non-seafood eater in my family, I had the Strip as well. It was nothing special. May have been a bad chef night, /shrug. DW had the seared tuna and thought it was great. She even got me to try a little of it.

I like the mahi mahi and have ordered it exclusively since Coral Reef removed the blackened catfish from the menu. I also recommend the lobster soup!

My parents rave about the salmon.

I had the NY steak and it was much better than the steak that I had at Le Cellier a few days before!

The chocolate wave for dessert is also a must for me! SO YUMMY!

Aww I love blackened fish but lobster soup sounds great

I had the pork tenderloin while my wife had the pan seared trout and they were the best meals we had at Disney during our stay.

IMO the steaks are just mediocre at Coral Reef. Some people seem to really like the steak there but in general the majority of the reviews match our experience. The steak was just a steak and not cooked correctly. DH sent his back because his medium rare steak was medium well but DD12 at her medium well steak even though she likes medium rare to rare because she can enjoy a steak as long as she can see some pink and didn't want to wait any longer (she's autistic so waiting any longer would have been much worse than eating a steak incorrectly cooked).

I order the Pan-seared Seasonal Catch and it was AMAZING!!!! I figure if you're going to a seafood restaurant, it makes sense to order seafood. After tasking my meal, DH was so annoyed with himself for not listening to me when I told him that the steaks don't get the best of reviews.

I've tried eveything on the menu and the only dishes I have really enjoyed are the catfish (now gone) and the mahi mahi. None of the appetizers have ever impressed me. I'm not a dessert eater but the ones I have tried here have been decent enough.

I'm not a seafood eater (DH is) so I had the steak, which I enjoyed. DH had the grouper, which he also enjoyed.
But the highlight of my meal was the chocolate wave for dessert.

Hmm, another vote for chocolate wave! Pan-seared fish also sounds good... I'll have to think about what kind of fish. Seems like Mahi Mahi is leading as of now but the seasonal fish is interesting. I've never been a fan of trout but if it's the best meal you had there I'll have to consider it.

I had the pork tenderloin both times, and I loved it!

I had the pan seared seasonal catch (Swordfish that day) over mushroom risotto and it was easily the best meal out of our 11 day trip last month. I still dream about it.

DH had the halibut and wasn't a fan of the tomato base of the dish. Both kids had the Mahi Mahi off the kids menu and loved it.

We had a really great experience both times we've eaten at CR.

The seared Chicken Breast is really good there too, nicely seasoned. DH had the Pork and he said it was really good too.

I've been to Coral Reef four times, twice for lunch and twice for dinner. Each time I've had a different seafood dish and I've loved them all. I think that they do all sorts of fish well and that you could order just about anything if the menu speaks to you. Then again, I've also had the butterscotch crème brûlée all four times I've been, so I guess there's something to be said for "must have" menu items.

I had the steak there and it was eh. I've also had the mushroom lasagna thingie and it was not good.

If I could make an entree out of the land and see appy, I would in a heartbeat. It was one of the best things I have eaten at WDW!
