Just thinking of last minute things for my trip Sunday... laptops... I never brought it before but we plan on bring 1 maybe 2 of them. Staying at POP, I know the room safe will not fit them, so what do I do??? Any advice?

TIA all!

DH used a laptop lock to secure it to a table, it was in a 1 bed villa though? We also used the lock around the laptop then put it in a suitcase with a lock.

Keep it out of sight.

Good question. We are going to cbr next week and we are going to bring my laptop. We weren't sure what to do with it during the day. When we went to the poly it was easy to lock it up in the safe.
My son's idea was to put it on the bottom of the dirty clothes bag-don't think so.

Last year I hid mine in my suitcase for the first two days at Pop, then gave up and left it on the table the rest of the trip. It was perfectly fine. No one touched it.

It depends on your laptop, but I have been able to get my little Dell into the safe. You have to angle it just right but it works if you dont have a big thick laptop.

I just put in back in the laptop bag, and place it under the table (not to hide it just to get it out the way). Many trips later, I haven't had problem.

my biggest concern is - when housekeeping is in the room do they leave the room door ajar so anyone can walk in and claim it is their room?

I have seen them do this.
So I use a laptop cable lock as well.
When I stayed at Pop, I had a regular screen laptop and it fit in the safe. I have a widescreen now- and I think it's too big now to fit.

The cables are easy to use and pack. I take mine everywhere.

When we stayed at the Pop we just threw it in a suitcase while mouse keeping was there so it was out of the way in the afternoons when we came back to the room and used it and then went to the park for the evening we just left it on the table.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to look into getting the lock .

There is also the issue of not only securing the laptop but securing the information on the laptop. If someone does get the laptop is there anything on there that you wouldn't want them to have? I recommend anyone who leaves the house with their laptop encrypts their hard drive. There is a free program called TrueCrypt that is great and thus far unbreakable. An OS password is useless, I have a boot disk that will show me the plain text password for Windows. Full Disc encryption is the only way to really secure the information on your laptop, provided you use a good, strong key that is.
