What should I do with 2 reservations at CR?

I am so confused about what to do about CR stay and can't ask DH because he'll tell me to do whatever is cheapest. We are going around Thanksgiving time and staying at the CR. Last time we stayed there we were planning on staying in the GW section and ended up with a magic kingdom view. What a surprise! So as a surprise to my kids, I booked the tower mk view with a AAA discount. I was able to get 5 out of 6 nights, but not the last night of our stay. I booked the last night as a regular night without a discount. I just found out that I cannot connect the two reservations even if I can't get a AAA discount for the last night. We will probably not need to move out of the room, just go down to the front desk and close the first reservation and open the second one.

Has anyone had this problem before? I was planning on converting my room only reservations into packages with tickets and dining but....
If I do my 5 day passes with my 5 nt. reservation package and a 1 day pass with my 1 nt. reservation package, it will cost me $200 more.

How would I do the dining package? Does the Dining package end when you check out or at the end of the day? I guess we could just pay for our breakfast and lunch on the last day before we leave.

Or do I just switch to Bay Lake view with AAA that is currently available for all 6 nts and simplify my vacation planning?

If anyone has dealt with this, I'd love to hear from you! :confused3 Lisa

We had a similar situation at BWV. We couldn't get a two bedrm for our last two nights that we added on so we just moved into the one bdrm. At check in we were told we wouldn't have to move just recheck-in. On the morning of the switch under the door was our bill for the two bdrm portion of our stay and our new room keys for the one bdrm portion. It was great we never had to do a thing. It was the best transition I've ever had at WDW. HTH:)

Since it was in the villas, did you have a room only or a package w/tickets and dining?

You could get 6 day tickets with your package and pay out of pocket for meals on your last day. I wouldn't give up the MK view room.

I don't think you'll be able to get dining on the 1 day stay, unless you buy a one day park ticket. So I would just get the dining on the 5 nights, buy the 6day park ticket (that has no connection to your room), and pay dining on the last day OOP.

We did a split stay in November (9 days) and had an 8 day ticket, 5 DDP, 4 DDP, and 1 day non-park hopper ticket. It was worth it for us to get the DDP for 4 days, but I wouldn't do it for one. We just used our old room cards as our park admission on the 2nd half of trip (although had we asked, I'm sure they could have somehow merged everything onto one card).

Just make sure you use your DDP credits on the first 5 days (your check out day should be ok too, just not the morning after the night in the new room).

Good luck, and I would keep the MK view!

Kim :)

Thanks for the information. I'm guessing it sounds like if I don't get the last night at a AAA discount rate and end up keeping them as two separate reservations, I can purchase all my tixs on my 5 nt. reservation package w/dining and simply pay for the last two meals on my 6th day.
