Dh & dd (age 12) will be doing the Catamaran excursion at St. Martin. Their excursion is at 1:30 & lasts about 3 hours. Anyone have any suggestions what dd (almost 2) and I could do while they are away? Are there any close by beaches or parks within walking distance of the ship? I don't know if I would feel comfortable getting too far away without my dh. It's my first time to St. Martin & I would really hate to get lost LOL! TIA!

There is a water ferry right when you get off the ship.It is $5 all day Kids are free. It will take you over to Philipsburg which I believe is Great Bay Beach(please correct me if I am wrong someone)Anyway The ship will be in your site the entire time and the people on the ferry were very helpful with getting you and your children on and off the boat. You could also shop in town while you are over there. The beach is nothing special but it is small, has beverage service, chairs and umbrella($).I found it to be quite convenient.

Two words:

SPA TREATMENT! ;)

Seriously, I would just stay on the ship for some pampering (assuming your daughter is willing to go to Flounder's for a bit). :)

Too bad we're not on the same cruise. I have the same dilemma. I was thinking I might just stay on the ship. I'm not much into shopping, but then I wonder if I'd be really missing something by staying onboard?

I agree with Michelle - between shopping or the Spa I'd opt for the Spa.

Of course I did end up getting a beautiful Australian Opal and Diamond ring in St. Martin, but that's because DH was with me and picked it out! :)

You should have plenty of time to go into port when DH gets back from the excursion so I'd pamper myself onboard ship while he is gone.
