My question is....can you have two existing reservations for Disney World? For the same dates under the same name?

Yup. I actually had three at one time, but limited it to two because my brother and sister-in-law decided not to come. Right now I have my room and my parents room booked under my name, but I have my parents names as the people who will be staying in it. All of the mailings come to my house and I paid for both deposits. It was fairly painless. The best thing to do is call the reservation line. They should be able to walk you through it.

I have had more than one reservation several times. Last summer when the codes came out I couldn't decide where we should stay so I booked both the GF and WL. That way I had time to decide without worrying that one of them wouldn't be available. I just cancelled one after I decided. No problem. I have also booked two rooms under my name for other family members. I did have the names of the people staying in the room listed. It's really easy! Good luck.

The fun part is when you have them break down the reservation by room for charging privileges.

A few years ago, we had three rooms in my mom's name and upon check in we had the cm break them down by room so we could put a different credit card on each room.

It wasn't easy (took several cm's) but it can be done. :smooth:

It's my understanding that CRO was trying to stop doubloe reservations.

My opinion (even though nobody asked for it) on double booking is that it's really rude to hold two rooms full well knowing that you're not going to take one of them. There are other people who want one of those rooms just as badly as you do.

Having said all that though, it couldn't hurt to try it and see what happens!

I made a reservation at the AP rate for CSR on Monday but then I started to look into POR. I called CRO and made another reservation for the same time frame at POR. She noticed right away that I had 2 reservations and told me that I could not do this. I told her I wasn't sure which resort I wanted yet and had to check with my DH. She said they could only hold my second reservation for 24 hours. We ended up going with POR. I can see how it would not be fair to hold 2 reservations at the same time.

I don't think 2 rooms at the same resort is a problem. People do that all the time. The problem now is 2 reservations for the same time at 2 different resorts.

Wellllll, there a way around this. I'm not saying it's right or anything, but if you book another room through a travel company (Dreams Unlimited), then they will put the second room in the other hotel under the name of the travel agency. I did this by accident once when I was shopping around for prices. If you decide not to take the one from the travel company, then just don't pay the deposite and it goes away.
