What should I do about January

I'm stuck about what to do for our trip in January. I want to book it, but I don't want to get locked into a package of AP's are going to come out.

Should I book room only now, and then just wait and hope that there are ap rates at some point?

When would AP rates normally come out for January?

We're in the same boat...I booked the airfare already because it was a good deal, but I'm trying reverse psychology this time.

When we went over Labor Day, I had the trip booked since April; however, in the meantime, everyone was receiving postcards, emails, etc for fabulous deals. Unfortunately, we ended up paying rack rate (not that we were counting on an AP rate that was nonexistent for our time period :( , but would've been nice).

I bet AP rates will come out, but it won't be until later 2003. January/Feb are so slow that I have a feeling that the resorts will still have openings. I may wait until last minute if I have to this time. It will drive me absolutely crazy, but I may get a better offer in the meantime. Who knows-it's just a game!

January is traditionally a light time at WDW. Are the ressies so tight that you have to book this far in advance? I would have guessed that it wouldn't be tough to get what you want at that time of year. Have been to WDW in January several times, don't recall any issues.

I'm also wondering what to do about January. I'd really like to stay at the Grand Floridian, but at $339 for a Garden view room, I don't think it'll happen. Two years ago we stayed at the GF in January, and I think we got an AP rate in late-October or November for it - as I remember, it was $250/night Lagoon View. I think we'll wait until discounts come out, otherwise, I guess we'll stay at Portofino Bay!

Do you have AAA? I decided to book my January dates to make sure they still had AAA rates for the resort I wanted. Now I'm waiting for AP rates, at which time I'll see if I can get that rate applied to my ressie!!!

Good luck with your decision!!! :smooth:
