You learn something new every day.

I learned:

There are 31 billion searches on Google every month, in 2006 there were 2.7 billion.

Over the last 20 years, sugar consumption in the U.S. has increased from 26 pounds to 135 lbs. of sugar per person per year.

"Mark Twain" was just one of Samuel Clemens pseudonyms. He also wrote as Thomas Jefferson Snodgrass, Rambler, Sergeant Fathom, Sieur Louis de Conte and W. Epaminondas Adrastus Blab.
^That's quite a mouthful.

What did you learn today?

That an 11 year old 4th grade student of mine is beating up her drug addicted mother.

That my cat likes the taste of expensive leather handbags.

Maybe not today but fairly recently, I learned that, apparently, history can actually be re-written

Love Mark Twain, ever read the "Diaries of Adam & Eve"? ... very amusing:goodvibes No-one should be allowed to alter an artists work and present it as intact.

hmmm, just read the thread that Hallmark is selling frogs, apparently live frogs..odd :confused3 not really shocking, but attention getting at least for me.
the day is early, wonder what I will have learned by 10pm

That a dear friend of mine who has been trying to have a baby for 12+ years found out last night she is pregnant! About 5 years after giving up hope! So stoked for her!

I learned that "jumping jacks" were named for Jack LaLanne. RIP.

I'm kinda shocked to learn that there is an 11 year old in 4th grade.

My 4th grader has like 3 more months of 9.

Yes, she's already missed over 25 days of school this year so she may actually have to repeat 4th grade again! She is very mature looking, evenfor a 4th grader, she'll probably be removed from the home soon though.

And we wonder why there is an obesity and diabetes epidemic in the US. Go figure.

That some people actually care about the Oscars.:earseek:

Thats nothing.. I have 16 year old 8th graders.. or 15 year olds who can't wait until they turn 16 so they can quit school with an 8th grade education.

Bullets are a non-returnable item in New York State.

A friend bought the wrong size as a gift and tried to take them back to get the correct size. Now he has 3 boxes of these HUGE bullets for a gun he will never own (nor desire to own) and wondering what he is supposed to do with them. :confused3

check with other gun owners & see if one of them has a gun that fits & trade them
