What shampoo are you using?

I've been using the Dove shampoo and I really like it. I've also liked Aussie and herbal essence in the past. The rest of the family uses suave lavender or coconut.
I always use the one for highlighted/colored hair. My hair is VERY thick, so I can't use anything labeled "for thin hair".

I cant help it....I'm a DOVE girl!! I like to use a good clarifier too every week since I have to use a lot of products. I like NEUTROGENA.

Hey tag fairy.......................................................I believe!!! Really i do!!!! CLAP CLAP CLAP!! Mommy wants a tag before her trip!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

My hair is thin, fine, but still has just enough natural curl left over from when I was younger. Plus, we just moved, and now Memphis humidity is added to the mix, and even after deep conditioning and blow-drying I walk around with frizzy, limp (yes, it can be both at once) hair. It sucks, because most Memphis nightlife is centered around the downtown/Beale St. area, and everything is outside, so while I look fabulous when I leave home, after two hours of sitting at Alfred's on the patio, my hair looks heinous...

So...I adapted, and here's my recipe for what I call "Crappy Combination Hair"

Biolage Energizing Shampoo, then Pantene Sheer Volume conditioner. The shampoo cleans without stripping, the conditioner moisturizes just enough, but isn't heavy. Then I use just a TINY bit (half of dime size) of Matrix Sleek Level 3 styling creme. Even after blow drying, my hair is silky, but bouncy and won't frizz for at least four or five hours. Long enough for me to get my groove on and make it home.. just like Cinderella.

"fession time - I use Head & Shoulders!

Actually, they make a dry scalp formula shampoo that is the only thing I found that keeps my scalp happy since I moved to the desert.

Most conditioners seem to weigh my hair down, the one that seems to work well for the moment is Neutrogena.

I have thick, below-shoulder length hair, and I swim daily, so I have to wash my hair daily. (Even though I wear a cap, I wet it down before I put the cap on, to keep any chorine that might sneak in out of my hair).

If I still lived in Orlando, my hair would never be dry!

Thermasilk, I mix the volumizing shampoo with the color protectant one...it really does keep my hair from getting fried with different processes and blow drying.

I don't change shampoos that often but I DO change styling aids a fair amount...right now I'm using Kerastase mousse from the hairdresser that was WAY overpriced  but works really well. :)

I mostly use Pantene Pro-V Hydrating Curls 2in1, I need something especially for curly hair, and that is the best I have found so far.

Lately I have been switching off with suave naturals sun ripened rasberry that my Mom bought for my sister and my sister doesn't like.

Since my neice is a hair stylist, I've become a Hair Product JUNKIE! I keep 3 kinds of shampoo & 2 kinds of conditioner in the shower just for me. I use Logics ColorReserve & Kenra Intensive Moisture 3 x a week. Joico KPAK shampoo & conditioner 3x a week & Neutrogena Clarifying/Kenra Intensive 1x a week.
I'm not even gonna think about listing the styling products I have! :p It all depends on how I'm wearing my hair what I'm using.....

In the summer, when I know I'm in & out of the pool, I put in a dollop of Burt's Bees Avacado Butter & leave it in to protect my hair from the chlorine.

I'd love to hear more about these shampoo bars.....

Dove ~ It makes my hair feel really soft. I was using Herbal Essence before that. Usually change my shampoo every 3 months or so.

Leota & Kitty 34, the shampoo bars are fabulous. They are a roundish shape but a bit flat....like a large rock you'd skip on the water. They fit in the palm of your hand very easily. You can either rub your hands over the bar or just take the bar and rub it in your hair. We bought several of the bars and find each to be very rich and creamy. They rinse out of your hair very well and leave it fresh and clean every time.

I had never heard of these until I read it somewhere on these boards...though I had been in Basin at DD before. They cost about $5 or $6 each. The first one we used must have lasted about 60 shampoos. The only one that didn't last as long was the 'chocolate' shampo bar....it smells like rich cocoa. When you smell the bar, you'll probably want to take a bite out of it :D

I am sure we'll be stocking up in October when we return to WDW.

Thanks GenePA for that great description of the bar shampoo. I will definetly be looking for that on our trip to WDW next summer.:D

are these real bars (like soap bars) you guys are using on your hair?

Yes, they are like bars of soap. The are round, maybe 3"-4"in diameter. You can either lather it up on your hands and then put it in your hair or just rub it right on your hair, it lathers up right away. If it is kept dry between shampooings, it should last for about 30 uses. Just like regular soap, it will melt if it has water on it all of the time. I bought a $.75 covered soap dish at Walmart to store it in. Definitely easier to travel with than regular shampoo. No worries about making room for the bottles or anything leaking.

I switch between Dove and Pantene.

These shampoo bars sound wonderful!!!
I will be sure to buy some during our trip in Dec!!!!
