What settings for Fireworks

I'm looking at ND filters right now. Is Hoya Pro 1 or a B&W filter okay enough not to fall into the 'cheap and nasty' category?

The reality check for me is that a graduated filter is likely to be out of my price range (buying a lens as well for this trip!) so that means I need to go with a non adjustable one. How do I go about choosing which one to get? I can see why people go for a variable, rather than a selection of ND's but I don't think I can afford a good one. I'd rather be a bit restricted and buy one decent one now that I could sell and upgrade at a later stage. It's that, or I just won't have one at all.

Any help would be great. :goodvibes

I started off with two ND filters from B+W because that was what I could afford. I just recently moved to the variable.

Get a 3 stop and maybe a 5 or 6 stop.

Thank you Paul. Is B+W going to suffice for me in terms of quality? (I mean I don't want what was posted on the ToT pic above to happen to me!)

I was thinking a 3 and a 6

I will have a look and see what I can get :)

B+W makes great filters!

You know, when I ask a question, there is never just one! :rolleyes1

I see that ND filters are not straightforward "choose the diameter, choose your brand" like the UV and CPL ones.

Single coated, multi coated, uncoated ..... I'm guessing that because the multi coated are a bit higher in price, that they the ones I should be looking at, but could someone please tell me why? I like to understand why I am making the choices I am making. Sorry about all the questions. I realize to date that questions have been my only contribution on here :guilty:

Keep asking these great questions! I have a lot of the same ones so this is helping me out and probably some other people on here too. I looked at BH photo and there are so many choices..its confusing! :thumbsup2
