What settings for cell phone on the ship?

Just curious because everyone keeps saying "bring a watch" what time zone are things done in and will my phone automatically sync to the correct time zone if I have the phone in airplane mode?

No, it won't. Just went through this. Had a time change for two days. No idea how to change the time on my phone so we just remembered that it was off by an hour for those days.

If you want to use your iPhone as your alarm clock, I suggest turning off the set automatically for the time zones. We have an issue with the time changing randomly in Alaska with the multiple time zones.

Tonight is just pre-orders. They're being released on the 24th. I'm intrigued too, though, as the Apple Watch may be added to my collection of watches soon enough.

So, to summarize:????

Phone in airplane mode
connect to wi-fi on ship
turn off background app refresh

I'm assuming since by ship isn't leaving the time zone I don't need to make any changes to that setting.
