what secret was the judge holding back in Casey Anthony case?

Prosecutors in the Casey Anthony case say the information they wanted kept secret — while they investigated — can now be released to the defense and the public, according to a one-page document filed this afternoon.

The investigation is done and there is no need to keep details sealed, Assistant State Attorney Jeff Ashton wrote in the document.

It's unclear what is in the material and what it has to do with the case. It's also unclear when the information will be released to the public.

I haven't followed the case much recently. But do you really think Casey's father or brother is the father of her child? Wasn't there a boyfriend or fiancee around when Caylee was born? That would be seriously twisted if it was a family member!

That's not the secret. I read on one of the forums that DNA tests ruled out family members as the father.

I always thought either Lee or George was the father of Caylee. This just interests me. I think a lot will come out in court -- more than we ever thought possible.

I read online that someone said they heard a slip on HLN where the consultant said that George's suicide note specifically stated Lee was the father. I never heard that myself.

I think clarifying paternity is extremely important to this case, Surely the defense would be interested. Depending upon who the father is potentially could explain Casey's state of mind or her feelings about her own child.

Caylee has a father. If he is alive, he deserves to know she existed and if he's deceased, doesn't his surviving family have a right to know? Why would grand parents not want to meet the father of their grand daughter or know who he was?

The father would have rights to file a wrongful death lawsuit against Casey At least that way the Anthony's wouldn't get the $ from any book deal etc.

Some people believe Caylee's father is dead. Then why wouldn't Casey be receiving Social Security benefits for Caylee? Everyone knows how money hungry Casey is/was. She stole plenty.

Cindy conveniently gave the investigators the wrong brush for Caylee, when they asked for it. Why would she do that?

Lee refused to give up DNA until he was made to. Lee refused also his fingerprints. He also refused to take a lie detector test.

George and Cindy were PROBABLY aware of her parentage or atleast suspected it.

Law enforcement insiders reportedly stated off the record that DNA results show someone related to the mother by blood is the father.

The real father of Caylee might be the strongest motive of all.

Casey tells George and Cindy in a jailhouse interview that "Casey has the best of all of us in her...you, mom, me and Lee"or something similar to that. I saw that on Nancy Grace


Tony said LEE touched her and initiated sex with her. Tony said Casey told him so.

Transcripts show that George said " You know Casey, things are going to start coming out about us, about our family..." What are those "things?" Secrets?

I know they say it's been proven that Lee was not her father -- but is it possible that they were assuming that George is Lee's father? Assuming Lee and Casey had the same father? If they assumed that, couldn't that have thrown off the paternity test?

At the very least, I think George, Cindy , Lee and Casey all thought MAYBE Lee was the father. Maybe they didn't all know until he was forced to take the DNA test.

According to the news reports I've heard, the letters did not contain a confession or any details about the case. The problem lies in that she was not supposed to have contact with other inmates. They are investigating how the letters were passed between Casey and the other two woman prisoners. One of the jail officers is being investigated. She could be in trouble.

I agree with the one night stands. But also what strikes me as odd, and maybe she's tried to find out, she was so money hungry......stealing money all the time, wouldn't she want to collect child support?

No, it wouldn't have thrown off the paternity test. DNA tests have proven that neither Lee nor George were the father of Caylee.

I have a girlfriend whose fiance died in a car accident two months before their dd was born. She never received benefits. I don't know all the ins and outs but you have to have alot of proof for the benefits and she finally gave up when her dd was 2.

And I also think that one of the reasons they aren't trying to figure out exactly who dad is is for the one reason you stated. Money. They are money hungry. They want all book rights. They don't want to be sued. They want every cent for Casey's defense since they are still claiming poor Casey didn't do it.

Well, I'm thinking she just really doesn't know. I mean, I would not at all be surprised if she didn't even know the names of all the guys she's been with. That's pure speculation, but based on experience with some of the girls I went to school with, etc.

Plus, that would have taken a lot of effort. Stealing is much easier.

I have been following this whole thing since the beginning and really don't think anyone knows who Caylee's father is...including Casey. Yes, she is very money hungry, but I think even if Casey knew the father I don't think she would have wanted to give up any control of the situation or Caylee. If she tried to get child support she might also have had to grant the father visitation. IF she knew the father, I don't think she wanted him involved. Casey is the biggest liar ever, I don't believe the story she told her boyfriend Tony about Lee at all. I think she wanted attention...as usual.

I just keep going back to all those things I listed in the above post -- especially a few of them: WHY would Cindy purposely give the police a brush that was NOT Caylee's ??????? Cindy obviously didn't want the police to have her DNA. WHY? She allegedly said also she should have given the police the dogs toothbrush -- WHY? Again, not wanting the police to have Caylee's DNA.......

if you're trying to locate your then missing granddaughter, WHY? WHY WOULDN'T YOU WANT TO HELP?

Don't even get me started on Lee's weirdo actions at the memorial service.....there are lots of websites picking aprt his actions and words at that service. Weird, weird, weird!
