I already have a SanDisk Extreme III, but I want something else, something better. I have been researching, but you get all kinds of info and it is soooo time consuming. I was hoping I could get a few personal experiences or just info if you have it!! :worship:

I have been leaning towards another SanDisk or Transcend brand. Any thoughts? My camera isn't anything fancy, but I do want something that can store quite a bit and still have good quality without breaking the bank, say under 30 dollars or so!! :)

Thanks,
Heather

I have used Sandisk, Kingston, Panasonic, and Transcend. The only ones I have had a problem with were the Sandisks. On two of them the lock switch fell off. I never lost an image so I don't have a major complaint and they replaced the cards. The question is how many images do you want on a card. Some folks like a lot of images others not so many. With my 16 mp camera I use 16gb class 10 cards. With my 10 mp cameras I use 8 gb cards with a minimum of a class 6. I don't want too many images on any given card in case of a malfunction. I get about 370 RAW/JPEG images per card. On the 16 mp camera I get 1,074 JPEG and on the 10 mp camera, 1,615 JPEG's.

I'm a big fan of Sandisk. Other brands have failed on me more rapidly, and I lost several photos from a brand new Lexar that wasn't writing correctly. The last thing you want are photos to get lost because your card fails, and Sandisk has the best track record, in my experience.
